subin felt like he had been drained

subin felt like he had been drained. it felt like he was unable to cry anymore.

he was sitting with his head against the wall in some random storage room he had found. he didn't want to see the others at the moment. he didn't want to hear their pained cries.

subin took a deep breath. it was a little difficult considering he had locked himself inside a dark and cramped little storage room. the shelves were surprisingly enough filled with boxes and other stuff. it was weird since they arrived fairly recently.

but subin had only shrugged it off.

until he got bored of sitting in there and wanted to do something without being reminded of the horrors from the outside world.

subin grabbed his phone and turned on the flashlight on it. he let the light glide over the different boxes. they were mostly in plastic, but there was some carton boxes as well.

in the plastic boxes there was mostly clothes and toys from what subin could see, so he decided to grab one of the carton boxes instead. he took the one closest to him and put it down on the floor.

inside it was a bunch of pictures. subin frowned a little when he picked the first one up. it looked like it was taken on the island, as he recognized the view from the back of the house. but the house was completely different.

the house was only two floors tall and didn't seem luxurious at all. there was a happy family in front of the house though. it made subin smile.

he picked up the next photo, and it was another photo of the house and a family. except this time the house looked a little bigger. and this family wasn't posing for the camera. they were on their way inside.

the next picture showed an even bigger house and a group of what looked like friends that were checking the house out. subin flipped through the pictures that were left. it was a bit satisfying to see the house grow after every photo.

but when he got to the last picture he froze completely. it was them. hanse was looking at the house in shock, byungchan and sejun were probably jumping around, he himself and chan were on their way down to the water and seungsik and seungwoo were just talking happily.

subin gulped. he hadn't seen anyone take this photo. he squinted to try and see where exactly the photo was taken, and that made him realize that the person was most likely hiding behind a tree while taking the photo.

shivers went down subin's back. what if it wasn't one of them who was the killer? he had to tell the others. he stumbled up from the ground and got out of the small room, the picture clutched in his hand tightly.

he ran over to the kitchen, where he had last seen byungchan and hanse. but he only found hanse. "hanse! hanse look what i found! someone took a picture of us when we weren't looking! what if there is a stalker here on the island?!" subin yelled when he entered the kitchen.

hanse almost fell off his chair when subin came in screaming. he looked like he was processing what the younger said before speaking up. "what are you talking about?" he said.

subin threw the picture on the table in front of hanse. the older took a close look at the picture. his eyes told subin that he was scared. "when did... when did this happen?" hanse asked, his voice almost a little shaky.

subin shrugged. "i have no idea. but what if it isn't one of us?" he said, taking the picture back to look at it again.

just then, the door opened with a loud bang. subin and hanse looked at each other with wide eyes. what if that was the stalker? they both decided to go and check.

they tiptoed over to the hallway where the front door was. then they stopped. they were both mentally preparing themselves for whatever it was they were about to see.

after a few moments, hanse seemed to have mustered up enough courage, and he peaked around the corner. then he let out a big sigh of relief.

"byungchan," he said. "how are you?" subin only heard sniffles as a response. hanse and byungchan came out from the hallway and walked over to the kitchen with subin following them close behind.

"i'm not sure if you are in the right state of mind to hear this right now, but subin found a picture of us from the day we arrived, and it seems like someone was stalking us. the picture was taken from behind the trees in front of the house" hanse slid the photo over to byungchan.

byungchan wiped away the tears from his eyes before looking at the picture. when he did, his eyes were quick to widen. "w-what is this supposed to mean? is this a joke?" he said, looking up with a terrified expression on his face.

"i'm not sure, where did you find it subin?" hanse asked. "in some random storage room on this floor. let's ask chan what he thinks" subin replied.

just as he spoke those words, chan appeared from around the corner. "see what i think about what?" he asked as he crossed his arms over his chest. subin showed him the photo.

chan only highered an eyebrow in confusion. "what? it's us, so what?" he said. he was about to turn around and walk away, but subin stopped him. "no, don't you see? it's someone taking a picture from the woods! maybe it's a stalker?" he tried.

but instead of looking scared, chan laughed. "oh wow, you are an idiot subin," he said. "that picture was taken by a staff member. i saw her when we were walking to the water but i decided not to comment on it. they probably saw the collection of pictures in the box and wanted to do the same thing"

byungchan let out the loudest sigh of relief. "don't scare us like that subin!" he exclaimed loudly. subin looked down at the ground in embarrassment. he really thought there was a stalker. he heard chan chuckle.

"so subin found it, huh? probably just another desperate attempt to get the suspicions off of himself" chan said, taking subin by surprise. "i though you-"

"you told us not to be on your side so i won't. honestly you have been acting weird this whole trip, like hanse said. i just didn't want to make you feel worse. but it is what it is" with those words, chan left the room. subin stood where he was, mouth open in shock. he did not expect that.

"i think i should go..." byungchan mumbled after a few awkward seconds. he was quick to get up from the chair he was previously sat on and leave the room.

now it was only subin and hanse.

hanse sighed before walking over to subin. "i'm not sure what to say now. saying i'm sorry would be weird since chan wasn't lying. i will be leaving as well, but make sure to take care of yourself and stay safe, okay?"

subin nodded at his words, and then hanse left as well. subin sat down on the kitchen chair with a groan. he thought he cracked the case. but apparently not.

that night he fell asleep in the same storage room he found the photos in. the air was thin, but he didn't care. he would rather die there than in the hands of that weird psycho killer.
