byungchan was absolutely undoubtedly terrified.

he had just woken up at his hiding spot in an empty bedroom on the third floor, and was quickly reminded of the terrors from the earlier day.

he wasn't sure what to do. he didn't feel safe walking around in the house, but he was also hungry and in need of a bathroom.

eventually, after almost an hour of contemplating what to do, the hunger got the best of him and he exited the bedroom.

he checked both ways in the hallway before tiptoeing to the staircase. he listened to check if anyone else was up or awake, but as he heard nothing, he began his trip down to the kitchen.

as silently as possible, he fixed himself a simple breakfast; a plain sandwich and a glass of water. he grabbed the plate and turned around - and nearly screamed.

right behind him was sejun.

"oh my godness what the fuck are you doing?!" byungchan yelled. "i'm sorry, i was hungry" sejun muttered, walking past byungchan to grab a sandwich himself.

byungchan thought of the conversations they had held when they were searching the floors the day before. he did not think sejun was the one who had killed all those people.

"who do you think did it?" byungchan asked, taking sejun by surprise. the two sat down at the dinner table when the older was done fixing his sandwich. "i'm not sure. i mean, there hasn't been any major clues pointing anyone out so far, so i can't really say anything" sejun spoke up, taking a bite of his sandwich.

"hm, true. but honestly, i kind of suspect seungwoo. i mean, how can he be this calm? it's a little weird to me" byungchan replied, making sejun hum in agreement.

the two continued to chat with hushed voices for a little while, both glad that they had someone to help ease the feeling of the situation, even if it was only the slightest.

but their conversation was interrupted when byungchan noticed the person who was eavesdropping on their conversation.

"subin? is that you?" he asked, eyebrows knitted together tightly. the said boy walked into the kitchen, head hanging low. "why were you spying on us?" sejun asked, sounding like he was interrogating the youngest.

subin began fiddling with his fingers, keeping his head down. "i'm just scared. like, what if i'm next? i don't want to die. not yet" the last part of his sentence was just a whisper, but it broke byungchan's heart.

"oh subin, we will make it out of here alive, i promise you that. go to your room and lock the door, make sure to stay safe" sejun spoke up, the corners of his mouth slightly curled up.

the youngest did as told and was gone a few seconds later. "i'm definitely suspicious of subin as well. i mean, i feel like he's overreacting a little" byungchan mumbled when they could no longer hear subin.

"what? subin? i mean, we are talking about the guy who is literally afraid of like... everything. besides, you seem more scared than he does" sejun seemed shocked at byungchan's accusations. the younger of the two shrugged. everything just confused him. he didn't understand who the person behind all of this was.

meanwhile, seungsik was practically going insane in his room. he was in his originally assigned room, pacing back and forth with his hands entangled in his hair in frustration.

"if it's not seungwoo then maybe... hanse? he's been oddly silent these days" seungsik muttered to himself while pacing. he really was just clueless who it could be. the people he suspected the most were seungwoo, hanse and subin though.

"seungwoo is too calm. he's the leader and that's his job, yes, but still... hanse has just been acting weird, and subin... is overreacting at little things. i just don't know" seungsik finally ended his pacing, falling down on the bed with a loud groan.

being alone for this long was driving him crazy, he even began talking to himself.

he was just about to get out of his room and grab something to eat when he heard voices outside the room. it sounded like sejun and byungchan.

"well they certainly have a lot of trust in eachother" seungsik muttered, trying his best to eavesdrop on what they were saying.

"so, where do you stay?" byungchan asked. "oh, in my room. here" was sejun's reply. only that little interaction made seungsik freeze. what if he thought all wrong?

"what if it's actually byungchan? i mean, now he knows sejun's hiding spot... oh god what if sejun is next?!" seungsik put a hand over his mouth to quiet his gasp. he needed to tell someone. but... who?

"guys!! i don't know if you can hear me, but i've decided to arrange meetings every day to make sure we are all alright!!" seungwoo was standing out on the porch, yelling at the open windows. he wasn't sure if anyone heard him.

the idea of a meeting came to him when he overheard sejun and byungchan in the staircase. seeing as he was the leader, he felt the responsibility to make sure everyone was alive and well.

he wasn't sure about who it could be. he somewhat suspected hanse though, since the other had been nowhere to be seen lately. he had heard the others walk around and grab stuff, but hanse hadn't moved away from wherever he was hiding.

although, he still would not let the idea of it all being a prank go.

"the meeting is at 2pm, i'll fix lunch for us too!!" seungwoo yelled before stepping back inside. he let out a sigh before walking over to the kitchen to prepare the lunch.

hanse was certainly suspicious of seungwoo. the other seemed so calm, which was very odd regarding their current situation. hanse made his way from his hiding spot on the third floor down to the kitchen when the clock struck 2pm.

seungsik and seungwoo were already there, talking with hushed voices. hanse cleared his throat, making them both jump.

"oh god, you scared me," seungwoo chuckled. "have a seat. the others will hopefully arrive soon" he continued with a smile. hanse returned it, although a slight bit more awkward.

the three sat silent, not really knowing what to say next. it was awkward, to say the least. no one spoke another word until chan arrived. he greeted them all with a big smile. the smile sent shivers down hanse's back. it looked so... fake.

"hey guys! what's up with the bad mood?" he asked, the smile still on his face. the others stared at him in shock. "the question is, what's up with your good mood? what happened to you?" seungwoo asked, eyeing the slightly younger suspiciously.

that broke the wall of happiness chan had managed to put up. his smile dropped, and his head hung low. he sighed before speaking up. "i'm sorry. it's just, i hate how none of us trust eachother. we are supposed to be together and having fun here, but instead we hide from eachother in fear of being killed..." chan's voice faltered.

"yeah, i feel you" seungsik mumbled, fiddling with the hem of his shirt. chan sat down as well. sejun and subin eventually joined them, and for each passing minute they all grew more suspicious of byungchan.

"where is he?" seungwoo directed his question towards sejun, focusing on the fact that the two seemed to have formed a little alliance. sejun just shrugged.

they waited for another ten minutes, but when the clock struck 2:30pm they gave up. "maybe he didn't hear the announcement?" subin suggested. "should someone go look for him? make sure he's alright?" hanse added. he had a bad feeling about the situation...
