The day it all started
Jennifer's POV
Today is Alex's most important game. The grand final. His team worked so hard during the whole season and now they're in final. I'm gonna go see the game with the kids, they are so excited for it they love to go see Alex's games. When I got downstairs they were all dressed up in Yankees clothes "Good morning" I said "Hey mommy" Emme said hugging me "Did you guys see Alex?" I asked "Yeah he already went with his team" Tashi answered "Mom what are we eating for breakfast?" Max asked "What do you want to eat Max?" "Pancakes...please" he said "Ok then I'll make that for you" "Yesss thanks mom"
"Thanks Jen" Ella said "No problem" So I made pancakes for the kids and the rest of the day went pretty much like always except today they were much more excited but I understand.
When it was time, we went to the stadium, sat in out seats and watched the game. It was pretty close until Alex hit that last home run that made the Yankees win. The crowd was yelling for them I was too but I couldn't take my eyes off Alex. He waved at the kids that were so excited and winked at me.
When les gradins se sont vidès we joined Alex and the other players with their families on the field. The kids ran in his arms saying he was the best baseball player ever. It was so cute. When they let him go, Alex took me in his arms and kissed me. I was so proud of him and he looked so happy... "Mom..." Max said "yes baby" I answered "Why is the police here?" He asked pointing at the six policemen walking in the stadium "I don't know but don't worry about it okay" I said and he nodded. Alex was talking to me but I wasn't really listening...I was more concentrated on these policemen talking with other players. I had an eye contact with the taller one and then they started walking toward us. "Alex Rodriguez stay where you are" one said. I quickly looked at Alex, I could feel he was getting nervous "Baby..." I said holding his hand. He looked at me and said "I love you Jennifer" then he started running away leaving me there confused...was he really running away from the police? Why? "HEY I SAID DON'T MOVE" a policeman yelled but Alex didn't stop. Three of them ran after him, knocked him on the ground and handcuffed him. Without thinking I ran to Alex I need to know why they are arresting him. "Alex" I said trying to reach him but the tall policeman stopped me "Mrs Lopez please let us do our job" he said "He didn't do anything wrong and if he did then tell me" I said "We can't tell you right now but you'll get a call later. Have a good night" Yeah right how do you want me to have a good night...they went away with him...I don't know what to say...that guy said I was going to get a call that means Alex did do something. I don't feel good. The only thing I can focus on is my kids asking me why and I don't even know what to tell them cause I don't know either. Everybody is looking at me... I can't stay here any longer "Max, Emme, Ella, Natasha we're going back home" I told them and started walking "Jen what's happening with dad??" Ella asked "I have no idea...I would like to tell you but I don't know" I answered "But I'm gonna get a call later..." "You're gonna tell us right" Natasha cut me "Yeah sure"
We went back home and I sent the kids to bed cause it was getting pretty late. I was expecting a lot of questions but finally only Ella needed to talk. When I went in her room she was crying so I hugged her "Jen I'm scared" she said "I am too baby" "I don't want dad in any trouble..." "The officer said he was gonna call me to explain to me but it's probably just a mistake" "You think so? He was arrested..." "I'm sure I don't see in what could Alex be involved" "Can i stay up with you? I want to know what's going on" "I think it's better if you try to get some sleep. It was a rough day and I'll tell you everything I know tomorrow" "You promise" "Yes" she laid down on her bed, I hugged her again and I got up "Everything is gonna be okay Ella"
I just sat in the living room looking at the phone waiting for my promised call. Finally ringing, I immediately answered "Yes?" "Hi I'm detective Jones am I talking to Jennifer Lopez?" "Yes that's me" "You're probably wondering why we proceeded to the arrestation of your husband Alex Rodriguez earlier today..." "Exactly" "So we recently found evidence proving that he was probably involved in the murder of his ex wife Cynthia Scurtis" "WHAT" "I know it can be shocking but..." "Of course because she wasn't even murdered??" "Oh she was" "Alex told me she had an accident..." "We told him the truth concerning his ex's death. After that we're not in control of what he says" I was in shock...why would Alex lie to me? "Mrs Lopez would you like to see him tomorrow?" "Yes" "Is 14:30 a great time for you?" "Yes" "Then have a good night" I didn't answer I just ended that call.
