••••••••••••••••••••••••
It's a fine Monday morning, Emma's first day at college.
She had mixed feelings, what was she to expect, what's college life like, would she make friends on her first day? Different questions ran through her mind as she sat in bus.
But she was sure of one thing, that God would see her through whatever comes her way, all she had to do is call on Him.
Emma's house is not really far from school. She just had to take one bus and she would be there in 15 minutes.
Emma dropped just in front of the school gate. It was a big black wrought iron gate and she could see right into the school premises.
It was so huge, very different from high school.
"Fresh man, I guess." Emma turned to see who spoke.
"Kim!!! Oh my God!" Emma jumped on Kim almost pushing her down.
"I'm falling!" Kim laughed and got back her balance.
Kim Scott is Emma's best friend.
They've been friends since high school. They actually met on the street.
After school one day, Kim's mother came to pick her up and Emma was just about leaving school to walk home. Emma's house was a stone throw from home.
Emma's mother always wanted her very close to her. She's a little bit over protective of her daughter since she's the only one she has after her father's death.
When Kim and her mum was about entering the car, a dollar bill fell from Mrs. Scott's purse as she was trying to get her car key.
"Excuse me, ma'am." Emma called out to Mrs. Scott. "You dropped something." Emma said pointing to the ground.
"My goodness, thank you so much dear. I didn't realise I dropped something. " Mrs. Scott bent to pick the dollar bill.
"Umm...Are you waiting for your parents? I could drop you off, just tell me where you leave dear." Mrs. Scott offered but Emma just politely turned down the offer since she leaves pretty close.
Mrs. Scott insisted but Emma still stood her grounds then Mrs. Scott thanked her again and drove off with Kim.
The next day at school, Kim approached Emma and thanked her for the previous day. And since then, the two have been inseparable."I thought it was a mean senior or something." Emma said as she adjusted her blouse that was almost revealing her belly button when she jumped on Kim.
"Seniors? Ha! Oh c'mon Emma. What are you? A fifth grader? This is college, not high school. There aren't any Seniors or should I say, bullies." Kim laughed at Emma who was already rolling her eyes.
"Kim, I've heard stories of..."
"Oh...My...God!" Kim exclaimed interrupting Emma.
"What???" Emma asked.
"Don't look now, there's a cute guy at my 3 o' clock ." Kim said almost excitedly.
"Where?" Emma turned immediately to see who Kim was referring to.
"I said don't look now!" Kim fired stomping her foot.
"I'm sorry, I didn't know I looked immediately. Plus, he didn't even notice." Emma turned facing Kim.
"Now we're late for the orientation. " Emma said dragging Kim into the gate.☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
The orientation was a long and boring one. Typical! But atleast Emma and Kim were able to meet another girl, Sam and became friends with her.
"I'm so hungry I could eat an elephant." Sam cried out.
"Oh... I saw a food truck at the park earlier, let's grab something quick to eat." Kim suggested.
They three approached the food truck and luckily the queue was short.
"I would have a burger, milkshake and one large pizza please." Sam gave the man in the truck her order.
"Umm...Sam, is the order for all three of us?" Emma asked.
"Hell no! You girls place your own order, I'm starving!" Sam fired.
Emma and Kim looked at each other.
If one could read that look it would be "That's quite an appetite for a girl".Samantha Walsh is a tall, slim girl. She's probably the slimmest among the three and has quite an appetite.
Emma and Kim ordered a small sized pizza and one milkshake each.
The girls sat down to eat and afterwards went to register at the library and school clinic. The scripture reference for this chapter.
Psalms 50 : 15 NLT
Then call on me when you are in trouble, and I will rescue you, and you will give me glory.
