"Hey, baby," Adam says as he walks through the door.

You just wave at him. He closes the front door and he walks over to the couch, leaning over the back of it and kissing your neck gently. You say, "Not now, Adam."

He looks up at you and says, "Uh oh. What happened? You're cranky."

You sigh, "Nothing."

Adam says, "Something's on your mind or else you wouldn't have an attitude."

"You're never here, and when you are, all you want is sex," you say. "It's all the time. You ask me to move in with you and now you're never here."

He says, "I'm busy with the guys. You know this. I'd give anything to come home for a few days and spend time with my beautiful girlfriend."

You look over at Adam and say, "Compliments are not going to make this any better, Cole. What's more important than spending time with me?"

Adam's eyebrows come together and he says, "My career, maybe? I've been wrestling since I was 18. I can live without a girlfriend. I can't live without wrestling."

You stand up and face Adam, saying, "You'd really choose your career over me?"

He spits, "I one hundred percent would. The only reason we're even together was because the guys made a bet with me that I couldn't get you into bed."

Your eyes widen as Adam makes this confession to you. He rubs his face when he realizes what he just said. Tears start to prick your eyes and you say, "You fucked me and started a relationship with me because you made a bet with the guys? That is so low, Adam." You walk upstairs to your room.

Adam follows you and he says, "That was months ago, Y/N. Almost a year ago. Things change, people change. Feelings change."

You grab a suitcase and say, "I don't want to hear it, Adam. I really don't." Tears fall down your cheeks as you pack the suitcase.

"I don't care if you want to hear it or not," Adam says. He steps between the closet and your suitcase on the bed. "A year ago, I didn't see myself with you in six months but here we are."

You stare up at Adam and yell, "I loved you with everything I had! But it was all a joke to you. It was all a bet. You made a bet to sleep with me but you went a step further and started a relationship with me."

Adam says, "Because I realized that I couldn't live without you! I fell in love with you, Y/N. I fell so in love with you that I asked you to move in with me because I wanted to wake up beside you every morning and fall asleep with you every night. I didn't care about the stupid bet after I got to know you and after I started dating you."

You cry, "I don't believe you. I don't believe a word that comes out of that mouth. You've lied to me so many times at this point."

Adam shakes his head and he says, "Everything I've ever done for you hasn't been a lie. The first time I told you that I loved you, I meant it. Every time I've told you that I loved you, including right now, hasn't been a lie."

"Then why are you never here?" you shout. "You're always out. You don't answer your phone and when I call one of the guys, they say you're not with them so where do you go? Britt's?"

He starts to shake his head frantically and I can see the panic in his eyes. Tears are spilling over onto his cheeks. "No!" he says. He reaches into his pocket and pulls out a little black velvet box. "I was making sure this was ready for you." You stare at the box in his hand as he opens it, revealing a sparkly engagement right. "I was going to surprise you with a date night tonight then ask you to marry me."

You look at the box then up at Adam.

Both of you are quiet before Adam says, "It started as a bet but I fell in love with you, Y/N. I fell so in love with you. I can't live without you so I'm asking you right here, right now to marry me. I want forever with you."

Wiping the tears away, you look up at Adam and say, "I can't. Adam, you hid this from me for so long. I can't trust you."

He says, "Y/N, please. I know I should have told you sooner but I'm telling you now."

"You're a year too late," you cry. "You never should have accepted the bet. I loved you, Adam. Long before you even knew. You took my love for granted and now you've lost it. I don't love you anymore. I don't know who you are anymore. I don't know what was real and what wasn't."

Adam starts to cry and he says, "Y/N, please believe me. I love you, more than you know. Please don't let this be the end of us. I won't be able to live with the fact that I did this to us."

You shake your head and say, "This is it, Adam. It's done, we're over. Give that ring to someone you really love."

You finish packing and leave Adam standing in the room with the little black velvet box open as you walk out of the house with your suitcase.
