Chapter 11***

A/N: Sorry I haven't been uploading my life has been very hectic for a while, there was a lot of deaths in my family and I had work and school, but I finally graduated and all I have now is work. :)

Harley P.O.V.

The next day Jasper and I were drawing in my room when Edward jumped into my window.

"What's up Eddie boy?" I asked without looking up.

"Uh, I'm just gonna be meeting your dad in a couple minutes before my date with Bella.. Any pointers?"

"Don't be a dick. Doesn't matter what your plans are as long as you're nice to him and respectful. Be yourself and try not to sound like an idiot. He might threaten you but he will like you eventually. He can seem like he's super serious and a killer but he is really nice deep down and you'll win him over. Anything else?" I asked the last part while glancing up at him.

He shook his head and hopped back out the window. Jasper and I walked downstairs to meet up with them right before they were about to leave. I was excited to join them since this would be the first year I would get to play alongside them.

"I'm going with them to play too. Bye dad. I love you." I called out to him.

"Throw a fast one for me Harls. Have fun."

I closed the door and Jasper and I got into the Wrangler with Bella and Edward. They made small talk on the way there, every once in a while one of us would chime in but otherwise we just stayed silent. When we pulled up me and Jasper hopped out and met up with the rest of the family. Esme made Bella the umpire which works since I would be joining them this time. 

At the first rumble of thunder Alice called that it was time. She pitched to Rosalie, Bella called out on her when Esme tapped her leg. Up next was Carlisle, Jasper, and then me. I swung at the ball with such force and it went so far into the woods that I could have ran the bases twice by the time Edward threw it back. When Rosalie hit the ball the second time around Alice froze. I read her mind during the vision.

"Stop." We both yelled.

 We all huddled around Bella as they started emerging from the fog shrouding the edge of the woods. 

"I smell dog-like we might be fine." I told them in a low enough volume that they could not hear.

Everyone approached them while I stood by Edward and Bella to try and overpower her scent.

"I believe this belongs to you." the man with dreads announced while holding up our ball. Which he then tossed to Carlisle. "I am Laurent. And this is Victoria and James."

"I'm Carlisle, and this is my family."

"Hello."

"I'm afraid your hunting activities have caused something of a mess for us."

"Our apologies. We didn't realize the territory had been claimed."

"Yeah, well we maintain a permanent residence nearby."

"Really? Well we won't be a problem anymore. We were just passing through."

"The humans were tracking us but we led them East. You should be safe." The Victoria chick chimed in almost sarcastically.

"Excellent." Carlisle commented back.

"So? Could you use three more players?" Laurent questioned. After some silence he added, "Oh come on, just one game?"

"Sure, why not? A few of us were leaving you could take their place. We'll bat first." He tossed the ball towards their group and Victoria caught it.

"I'm the one with the wicked curve ball."

"Oh well I think we can handle that." Claude replied.

"We shall see." Victoria spoke lowly.

James stared at Bella for another second then started to walk away just as a gust of wind blew our hair. James whipped back around after taking a huge whiff.

"Oh I see you brought a snack." He announced.

Edward shoved Bella back as we took a protective stance around her and snarled at him.

"A human?" Someone asked.

"The girl is with us. I think it best if you leave." Carlisle told them.

"I can see the game is over." Laurent agreed. "We'll go now. James."

James and Victoria snarled as the three of them walked away back to the woods.

"Get Bella out of here." Carlisle told Edward. "Go."

Edward tore out of the clearing and I listened to the Jeep race through the woods.

"I need to get home. NOW!" I almost yelled at Jasper. "She's going to make Edward take her home and then she's gonna hurt dad's feelings just so he'll let her leave because she HAS to say goodbye. I need to go be there for him."

We raced so that Edward was "leaving" in the Jeep with Jasper while Bella was packing. 

"If I don't get out now then I'm just gonna be stuck here like mom!"

Once she stormed out and drove away dad came over by me in the kitchen. He fell to the ground and broke down right in front of me. I held him as he cried.

"I just got her back.."

"Don't worry dad. She'll come back. She didn't mean it, I think she's just upset and might need a break from Forks. She will be back dad. I promise."

He looked at me broken and utterly defeated.

"How about I cook us some steak? We can even have Billy and Jacob over and have them pickup alcohol on their way."

He nodded and agreed. This is gonna take a while for him to heal.
