A counsel of elves sat around an intricately carved table. They had a huge decision to make. Do they call on the ones who could save this world but possibly at the cost of their own life, or do they try to do this on their own, with a huge possibility that they fail and lose their country.
The elf at the head of the table stood up to address the assembled elves. “Well my dear friends what is our decision? Will we call on Sophie and Mihael? Or do we do this by ourselves?”
An elf further down the table stood up and spoke, “I for one say that we should call on them. We will try to protect them as much as we can.”
The prince looked at the all the elves. “We can protect their bodies. But we can’t protect their mind and their sanity. And that is the very thing that is at stake. The enemy doesn’t just fight with swords, he plays with the emotions.”
The council pondered the decision. After some time the prince stood up and looked at his fellow elves. “Well my friends what have you decided?” One by one they stood up and told the prince their choice.
The prince nodded. “Let us tell the dragons what we have decided.”
All the elves rose in unison and walked out of the hall. A black dragon stood on the grass looking over the forest that was below them. He swung his head around and looked at the elves. The prince touched his pointer and middle finger to his forehead then his lips. “We have reached a conclusion. We wish to call on the chosen ones. We had decided that there is no other choice.”
The dragon looked sad for a moment then nodded. I will let the dragon race know. The calling will happen a week from now. That gives them a few days to meet. They must meet or the calling will not work.
The elves nodded, acknowledging they had heard. They then walked from the meeting hall to the palace. Once inside they traveled down a secret passage way into a room that had just a single table. On the table was a book. The prince laid his hand of the book and spoke in a quiet voice, “I call on Mihael Shyiahar and Sophie Everhart. Bring them together and heal the hurts that scar their souls.”
The book shone with an almost blinding light and then dimmed. The elf prince smiled. The events had now been set in motion, and no one could stop them from the pattern that they were now tracing.
