|Lies and Pain....|

(the entire time I was writing this I had 'Lies' by Will Jay stuck in my head)

{Gaster POV}

I open my eyes, my head is throbbing. "ughh-" I sit up. I sit up on my bed and check my phone, seeing a text from King Asgore "Hello Gaster! Have you finished the project yet? It would be useful to all of the underground"

'Shit.' I still hadn't finished it, fuck, I wasn't even halfway done trying to figure it out!

My leg starts bouncing and I try to steady my breathing, but it wasn't really helping. Sans must've entered the room at some point

"Woah, hey, dad!" I hear Sans cry "Hey, hey its okay, can I give you a hug?" he asks gently, I nod my head and he hugs me "It's gonna be ok dad... you're ok" he kept repeating, but I didn't feel any safer...

[15 Minutes later...]

After I'd calmed down mostly, "Hey, what was that all about?" Sans asks softly, "I-it was N-nothing... I promise.." another lie "Dad, I know you're lying.. please tell me what's wrong.." he begs, "I told you, Sans... I'm fine. Now we gotta go get ready for work, Meet me downstairs in 30 minutes." I say ushering him out of the room, he sighs "fine, but.. Paps and I are here for you ya know..." he says, then hugs me, I sigh and hug him back, "I know Sans... now go get ready" he says bye, and leaves the room.

I close the door behind him, I sink down to the floor, and sit with my back against the door. I gulp, 'This is gonna be a rough day...' I think, another tear falling down my face. I shake my head and stand up and walk over to my closet.

[After getting dressed in his usual stuff]

I sigh and brace myself for the long day ahead of me, and leave my room. I walk down the stairs and see Papyrus and Sans arguing, Sans had been making puns galore and Papyrus was yelling at him, I couldn't help but laugh. "You two are very Humorous" I joke, papyrus screams "AUG! NOT YOU TOO DAD!!" me and Sans both laugh, "Ok papyrus, we'll stop, we're gonna go head off to work, see ya later pap!" I say, waving to him "W-WAIT! UMM, s-someone's gonna be coming over tomorrow.. j-just thought I would let you know!!" he says, but not as loud, and less confident "Papyrus, are you ok??" I ask him, "Y-yeah.. just a little nervous...b-but I won't tell you why!! a-at least not yet..." he responds "Hmm, ok then. we'll see you later papyrus!! Bye!" I hug him quickly and wave before walking out the front door and shortcutting our way to work.

[After a while of working]

"Sans, what are you doing? you've been gone for almost an hour now-" I say, looking around the lab until I find him at the counter sleeping, his work sprawled beneath him. I sigh, I lift him with my magic before teleporting him home and onto his bed. I grab some coffee real quick before returning to my work. I watched the temperature of the CORE very closely, it seemed to be slightly heating up. I sigh, get up and release some of the pressure from the CORE, then sit back down at my desk, and resume my work.

I start to get a little more stressed, I had unconsciously started scratching my wrists with the pen in my hand, I only noticed when my white lab coat's sleeve had suddenly turned red, 'Sh/t, what do I do? I don't have a spare with me... I'll just have to go without it for now... but what do I do with it?! I can't just throw it away! but I don't want people to find it either..'

I started to panic and hyperventilate again, it's hard for me to breathe. I slowly try and get up, using the table to help. with the voices yelling at me, I try and make my way to the bathroom.

[After getting to the bathroom 3 minutes later]

I stumbled into the bathroom, knocking some things over in the process. I reach into the cupboard for the bandages, but there was a razor next to it... I suck in a breath, but I was desperate... I wasn't in the right state of mind...

I reached up again and got out the bandages, then started wrapping up my arms in gauze. 'what if they find out.... what will they say?...' I sigh, after trying to clean off his coat as much as possible, he went back to work...

I pick up a pencil and attempt to write something, but my pain shoots up my wrist. "Agh!! shit-" I complain, I sigh and use my magic to continue writing.

[After getting the majority of his work done, 10:50 pm]

[Grillby POV]

'Hmmm, where is he?' I think, and not even 5 seconds later, I heard a *ding* come from the front, I look up and see a very tired-looking gaster, he approaches me and slumps down in his usual stool, "You ok gaster? you look... tired, well, more than usual..." I said but all he did was grown in response. I tilt my head "Rough day at work?" I ask, "Eh-, it was.... ok I guess...", I move around the bar counter and sit next to him "You wanna talk about it..?" I ask, rubbing his back. "n-no...c-...can we just snuggle...?" he asks, this surprises me a little, but then give him a warm smile, "of course..." I say and put my arms around him, he leans into my chest. "how're you doing?.." I ask softly and he pauses for a minute.

[Gaster POV]

"how're you doing?.." He asks softly, and I pause. "i-i'm doing fine...just a little stressed I guess..." I lie.

"Gaster? Are you sure you're ok?" grillby asks again "yeah.. fine..." I say, faking a smile, "ok... but you know you can always come to me if you wanna talk..." he says sweetly, pulling me closer. I blush a light purple, "g-grill... there are customers." I say, looking around, almost no one looking, but still. "so?~" he coos, making me blush a little more. "hey, I- know this might be a little too soon, and you don't have to say yes.. but you wanna stay the night and watch a movie..?" He asks, blushing a light blue at the tips of his flames, my whole face turns purple. "well i'd have to tell Sans and Papyrus-" I say "Mk" he smiles kissing my cheek. I blush and open my phone.

Group chat

G: Hey kiddos! I'm not gonna be home tonight, I'm sorry! work's catching up with me and I gotta take care of the CORE :/

LazyBones: fine, I don't want to come into work and see you lying there on your desk sleeping though! >:(

G: Says the one who fell asleep on the kitchen counter today-

LazyBones: shut up-

CoolDude123: Awww!! ok, dad!! goodnight!!

LazyBones: 'Night dad!

G: good night kiddos!! love you! 💜

I turn off my phone, "ok, we're good to go" I say

[After everyone floods out of the bar]

"Ok, what movie do you wanna watch?" he asks, "Lilo and stitch?.." I mumble, "heh.. can you repeat that?" he asks snickering "Lilo and stitch..." I say more clearly, he giggles and snuggles into me "You're adorable~" he coos. "shut up-" I reply, and he giggles. He turns on the TV and turns on Lilo and stitch and we settle down.
