Kai's POV
The thunder crashed and the lightning lit up the whole sky, and illuminated our faces. I looked up just in time to see a huge tree slowly break from it's roots and fall 500 metres from the house. Zach's eyes were wide behind his glasses.
'We've never had a storm this strong before. I hope... ' His voice trailed off, a look of concern on his face.
'You hope what?' I asked.
'I'm gonna go look for Shadow. He was outside before. I have to help him.' He stood up, and I grabbed at his arm.
'Graser, no. It's too dangerous out there.' He gently removed my hand, a look of apology on his face. I watched as he left, and searched the whole street. And I watched as a bolt of lightning hit the spot where I could have sworn he was standing.
