Victor was flipping through some notes before a meeting while the girl was tending to the plants in his office. He noticed that she was oddly quiet and distant.

'Wait for me after work! I want to discuss something.'

She didn't respond so Victor glanced up. She was trimming the bonsai on his desk, facing away from him.

'Ahem.' He cleared his throat loudly. 'I was talking to you. Are you daydreaming again?

'Huh?' She glanced at him.

Just then Goldman came in and interrupted. 'Boss, Mrs. Baker is here.'

The girl quickly grabbed her stuff and hurried out without a word.

'Did you make her cry again, sir?'

Victor silently threatened his assistant with a side-eye but he was wondering what could have got into her suddenly.

Later, he went up to the hanging garden. He had to bend his back slightly when he entered the little greenhouse.

'Are you in here?'

'Y-Yes...' She crawled out from behind a big plant. 'Is your guest already gone?'

'Obviously. Otherwise I wouldn't be here, would I?' He said with mild annoyance.

She rolled her eyes.

'What was that earlier?'

'What was what?'

'Don't pretend to be dumber than you already are!'

Her nose twitched.

'You've been acting stranger than usual.'

'I didn't think you would notice.' She was somewhat impressed.

'I also noticed that you've cried out your eyes. So what's going on?'

'It's nothing serious really. I'm just having a bad day.'

'Right. Then come with me!'

'I can't. I still have a lot to do.'

'I wasn't asking. It was an order.' He said curtly and turned on his heel. 'Come now!'

They went to his car and he opened the door for her.

'Where are we going?'

'You'll see when we get there. Get in!' He grumbled.

'Rude.' She scoffed.

After about a twenty minute car ride they arrived to a restaurant. Souvenir.

She was looking around astounded with a gaping mouth. 'This place is yours?'

He nodded.

'And you are bringing me here just now? I've been wanting to try this restaurant like forever but it's impossible to predict when is it open.'

'You are here now. So sit down and wait here!' He said and headed to the kitchen.

'V-Victor?'

That tremble in her voice stopped him on his track and made him turn back. 'Huh?'

'Could you hug me?' She choked up. 'Please...'

He went back to her right away, unfurled her fingers and pulled her into his arms. She felt so frail, he didn't dare to hold her too tight.

'Hey!' He said softly and comforted her.

She broke down in tears. He didn't ask anything just held her but listening to her sobs was tugging at his heartstrings.
