The view from the mountains was spectacular. The wedding had been wonderful. Ruth had never felt so loved in her life. Even though her parents and siblings were not at the wedding, she could feel their presence. It helped that she at least had Ian and now she had Louis as another brother.
Rachel, Ben, and Curtis had enjoyed their speeches way too much. Ruth had never laughed so hard or blushed as much as she did when they had told embarrassing childhood stories. Rachel's mother had brought tears to Ruth's eyes as she spoke about how proud she knew that Edgar and Bertha would have been to see their daughter marrying the man of her dreams. Ruth had been afraid of ruining her makeup as so many people spoke about how proud Edgar and Bertha would have been with their two surviving children.
A pair of arms slid around Ruth's waist. Ruth leaned her head back against Philip's strong shoulder as she stared out at the mountains. His lips brushed against her hair as he inhaled the scent of her coconut shampoo. Ruth closed her eyes and sent a prayer up to her family for helping her find the man of her dreams.
"How are you feeling today?"
Ruth turned within the circle of Philip's arms. Her hands rested on his chest as she smiled up at him. "Wonderful."
A self satisfied smirk crossed Philip's face. "I thought so too."
Ruth gave a dreamy sigh as she gazed lovingly into Philip's eyes. "You made me feel so loved last night. I felt beautiful and I haven't felt that way since the accident."
"You have always been beautiful to me. Your scars make you beautiful."
A contemplative look crossed Ruth's face. "Maybe it's time for me to tell the world about what happened. I have been hiding since the accident. Perhaps if I tell the story of what happened to me, I can help someone else who is going through what I have."
"That is a wonderful idea."
Ruth beamed up at Philip. "Thanks."
Philip leaned down and kissed Ruth. Ruth kissed Philip back. Philip pulled back with a chuckle. If you keep kissing me like that, we won't make it out of this room in time to meet the others for lunch."
A salacious grin spread across Ruth's mouth. "I'm sure they would understand why we are late."
Philip struggled not to smile. "True, but we cannot keep them waiting. They haven't seen either of us in days."
Ruth pouted. "That's because we are on our honeymoon."
"We have to leave our suite eventually."
A sigh escaped Ruth. "You're right and I do want to go shopping. I want to get some new clothes so that I can meet that producer in."
"You'll look awesome in whatever you decide to wear."
"Thanks Philip. That means a lot."
Philip kissed Ruth again before he took her hand and led her to the door to their suite. "Let's go before we forget ourselves."
Ruth couldn't help but laugh as she followed Philip out the door.
