Junko's funeral was held on April 2, 1989. It was broadcasted on live TV. Her future employer presented her parents with her uniform, which was placed in her casket. April 3, 1989, would have been her first day of work.
Junko was also presented with a diploma at her graduation.Jo Ogura's mother had vandalized Junko's grave, claiming she'd "ruined her son's life". Junko's grave was relocated to another cemetery because of the repeated vandalism.
Junko's family has moved away since the crime. Her mother had to undergo psychiatric treatment because of what happened.
