THEY SAY THE FIRST CASUALTIES of war is innocence, but Naois Vos never had any innocence to be taken. His hands stained with the blood of battle and his mind plagued with the disasters of war. War, such a short word for the profuse amounts of destruction that followed.
War had never changed Naois for it was all he had ever known. Carving the man he was today, each battle chipped slowly away at his exterior and molded him into a battle driven soldier. Whether it was the physical or metaphorical blockades, it had shaped him and no matter who proclaimed to have won, Naois would still be at war with himself.
"Mayday, mayday!"
So Naois fought. He fought wherever he could and climbed out of the fires of war, licking the the bloodied knives that tasted of disaster. And when the war finished, he was given another opportunity as a soldier, and it being all he had known, it was what he took.
In the hallway, his eyes would practically beg those around him to ask if this was what he wanted. If he wanted the job of a glorified bodyguard to his best friend instead of doing something meaningful with the rest of his life. And so, Naois Vos set off on a journey to the stars, once again hoping to find another piece of him that's passed.
"This is Naois Vos of the New Republic Guard."
The piece he sought was the shattered reality of his childhood that resided with his aunt. His father, dead and his mother long gone, Naois had hope that whatever he was looking for, she would somehow have it.
Turing in his resignation, Naois' feelings of doubt began to seep out when Leia Organa begged him to stay. All he had ever done, it was in the name of the Organa family. A Mandalorian soldier who failed in his duty to protect the girl when taken aboard the death star but it was what happened after that broke whatever was left in his heart.
