_______________________________________________________Grasping the hard cardboard like the dork she was, Samara Young turned to check the flight board. Flight 289 was right on schedule, if not early to arrive at The San Francisco International Airport. The butterfly's in her stomach fluttered to life as the number of his flight was announced over the intercom. "Flight 289, will be exiting Tunnel 6A shortly." Her glance snapped back to the sign above the staircase that read "6A" in bold yellow print. Her glasses seemed to pinch the bridge of her nose and her body temperature seemed to rise 20 degrees under the dark purple sweatshirt he had bought her on a day out around the mall. She loved that sweatshirt, it was her favorite piece of clothing. She wore it whenever she thought of Charles, which was nearly all the time now that they had been in a relationship for almost a year.
Her thinking was interrupted by her father, his hair a ruffled mess. "Pumpkin, is something wrong? You seem to be...nervous?" he struggled to find a work that fit her expression. She knew it, she was too excited to even be counted for it. Samantha walked up behind her husband and tapped him lightly on the shoulder.
"Honey, your daughter is excited to see her...um...I mean, Charles. Besides, you shouldn't have a say in how her expression worry's you. She looks just like you when I stepped off the plane from my trip to Jamaica," She hinted at him. He smiled yet mumbled something inaudible. "But guess what? I found a fast food restaurant right around the corner!...?...Come on now!" she wrapped her thin, pale arms under Samuel's large ones, pulling him forward. His eyes seemed to glow at his wife's mention of "food".
"Oh alright," he gave up, his stomachs hungry roars helping him finalize his choice. He looked back at his daughter with cautious eyes. "Your mother and I will be just around the corner, pumpkin, stay here," He glanced around at the wandering pedestrians, some standing near Samara, awaiting for their loved ones to exit the tunnel as well. "And don't let me find my pumpkin and Jones k- alright honey, let's go!" Samatha groaned, her green eyes beaming at her daughters and she pried Samuel away. Her mother winked her good luck and turned to walk Samuel to the food court.
Sam smiled and pulled her full attention quickly back to the marble staircase. In just a few short minutes, she would finally be in his arms again. After two horrifically long months of Charles' absence away on a business trip for a client in London with Lucy, Umed, Alex, and Jacob. She flipped the board around in her hands, only growing more anxious as she heard the door from the tunnel crack open. The butterflies in her stomach didn't leave, not for a second since she had woken up, knowing today she would see him again.
"Flight 289, now exiting tunnel 6A." The intercom spoke again. Tick. Tock. Time seemed to slowed down, the butterflies only sped up. Tick. Tock. Feet hit the marble steps, Samara's eyes shot to them, immediately recognized them. Tick. Tock. Lucy's red hair bounced into view, her glasses seemed to sparkle as she read the sign in Samara's hand. A smile exploding on her face. Tick. Tock. More shoes began appearing on the staircase, one set of them setting off an internal bomb in Samara's heart. She knew those shoes, the brown loafers she had bought him the same day that her favorite purple sweater was purchased. Tick. Tock. A man with a green button-up shirt and a red tie shuffled down the stairs into view, his platinum blonde hair a ruffled mess, just how she liked it. The noise seemed to stop transferring into her ears, only the sound of her racing heart and white nothingness was heard in those moments. She didn't feel the cardboard being clutched in her warm fists, digging her nails into the sign with an intense amount of pressure. Tick. Tock. Blood rushed to her face, presenting a glowing red blush as blue met brown. Her throat tightened and her chest fell. It was him, Charles was back. Tick. Tock. The plan to keep calm had been aborted, she felt her feet fall on the tile floor as the sign dropped behind her. Her hair flying behind her as she rushed towards Charles. Charles' long legs made it easy for him to jump the remaining steps, though it was not very mature of him, that didn't matter in that moment. His lamb was here, that's all he cared about.
"Charles!" Samara cried as she finally crashed into his chest. The time that had been slowing then seemed to come to a complete stop. At that moment, both of them intertwined in each other, they felt whole again. They were home, in each other's arms. Charles sniffed, clutching Samara's hair in his hand, his other wrapped around her waist as they side-stepped to a rhythm of happiness, his neck bent so he could burry his smiling face in her neck.
"S-Samara, you c-came!?" He stuttered, his usual deep voice hidden by a high pitched, surprised tone, his accent not handling the change in tone well, leaving his voice to crack. She laughed, tears streaming down her face.
"Of course I came! You think I would want to be anywhere else right now?" she shook her head, admiring the blue eyes she longed for since he left. Planting her face back into his chest, she listened to the pounding of his heart in his chest, hers hammering at the same rate. He kissed her hair, stroking her back as she began to sob into his chest, her arms wound themselves around his back, pulling him closer. His eyes began to boil and his throat seemed to clog itself. He was crying. Tears fell onto her sweatshirt as he shifted his head back down to her neck.
"I've missed you, Bunty." he choked. Samara let out a shaky sigh as she heard her unique nickname once again. Her crying was interrupted by a weak smile.
"O-Oh Charles, I m-missed you too!" She cried shakily. There they stood, interlocked in each other's hold for a few minutes, people around them smiling and whispering. But the couple didn't care one bit, they were all they needed at that moment. As he heard Samuel's voice grow nearer, Charles squeezed Samara one last time and began to let go of the intense grip he held on her. Samara wiped her tears and latched her hand onto Charles, not wanting to let go entirely.
"Charles! It's great to see you! How was the trip?" Samantha cooed, going in for a hug. Charles accepted and smiled.
"It was a success, Mrs. Young," He sniffed as he let go of Samara's mother, still trying to regain himself after the emotional moments he had shared with her daughter. "The team and I did well, we convinced the client and we should be receiving an email soon for the start of the project they need us to assist them in." Charles turned to Samuel as he was talking. Samuel glared at the Welshman, watching as he held his daughter's hand with a profound grip. Samuel scanned the two, pink cheeks, puffy eyes and they both still had a consistency of sniffing now and then, drawing the top of their hands to their noses as they did so.
"Well done, Jones, I guess deporting your Welsh's bottom won't help anyone that much," Samuel grumbled, kicking a napkin that was crumpled up on the ground. Samantha and Lucy groaned. Charles shook his head and smiled, looking down.
"No sir, I'm afraid I'll be sticking around for quite some time." he looked back up at the Young's, a proud smile on his face. He felt Sam lean into his arm, her grip on his hand loosening as her hands wound around him once more. He didn't object. His hands shifted down her back and around her waist. He felt well again. "Dwi wedi dy golli di, fy nghariad."he whispered softly into her hair. Samuel paused, feeling the color drain from his face. Samantha slid her hand up and down his arm.
"Samuel, look how happy our daughter is," She cooed. Samuels stern eyes fell to his daughter's face. She was in tears, smiling into Charles' shirt as her arms were knotted around his waist, her smiling lips quivering as she let out a heavy sigh in relief. He felt his fixed frown relax, his forehead releasing his brows from its deadly hold. He watched as his daughter slowly lifted her chin on his chest, resting it there, gazing up at her towhead. Charles's face being forced out of her hair, he stroked it behind her ear and leaned forward. Samuel felt his heart rate spike as his daughter kissed the Welshman. Her hands wrapped around his wrists as his hands found themselves in her hair. He pulled back and kissed her forehead gently. Samuel watched a small blush break across Samara's cheeks, a smile growing on her face as her eyes slipped closed.
"He's the one, Samuel, we both know it...we all do," Samantha nodded towards the other employees who were smiling at the couple. Lucy felt her lips curl as she met Umed's satisfied side glance. They knew all along. Every day, watching Charles stalk the halls at the workplace with a solemn glare pasted on his face, walking quietly to his office without releasing a word from his frown stapled mouth. But when Samara was promoted to his Assistant, the atmosphere around the office only grew lighter. But not only for Charles, but for their dear friend Samara too. The smiles they had on their faces, walking into the workplace would astonish the employees as they watched day by day, the smiles and greetings only get more animated and bright. Smiles and waves were the only growing signs the employees were allowed to spectate. But only Umed and Lucy took it a step further, noticing the bond growing between the two, the amount of time they would spend together in each other's offices. Any day, Lucy would go walking past to the fax machine or the printer to only to hear a hushed buzz of giggles and faint laughter from Samara's office or chuckling and the silent sound talking in Charles', she would smile, signaling Umed with a soft smile that she had indeed, once again pocketed another sign of hope for the two.
Alex bent over, slowly picking up the cardboard cut out that Samara had dropped due to her emotions getting the best of her, not being able to hold on to anything, her hands had been shaking so much. He smiled at the sloppy writing that had been printed on the board, handing it to Lucy as he slid a hand through his suitcases handle. Lucy smirked at the flimsy piece of board in her hand, sliding it under her arm.
"I'll save this for later." She whispered to herself.
"Pardon?" Charles asked, scooping up his carry on from its spot it had scattered on the ground.
"Nothing, I'm just making sure we have everything!" she smiled at him, tucking the cardboard further into her cardigan so he wouldn't notice it. He shrugged a quick smile and walked back to Sam.
As everyone began moving to the conveyor belt to pick up their belongings, Sam wrapped her fingers around her Welshman's free ones, peeking up at him through her lashes.
"Welcome back." Sam cooed, squeezing his hand with a soft force. Charles smiled down at her, planting a soft kiss on the top of her head.

____________________________________________________Hello reader!
I'd like to thank you for the patience you've had with me as I attempted to write this fluff-full story! This was an idea that had popped into my head quite a while back but as I said in my announcement, school decided to throw some curve balls and the time I had to write this was definitely limited. I also would like to apologize for any grammatical errors you may have spotted throughout this, I don't have the best eye when it comes to looking out for those! But from a Charm heart to possibly another, I hope you enjoyed this story! Thanks again, I appreciate you!Jules
"Dwi wedi dy golli di, fy nghariad."- "Ive missed you, my love."
"Rydw i o'r diwedd adref"-"I'm finally home."
