(Dave's POV)
"Sir the autopsy reports have arrived, it say the reason of death is due asphyxiation (irregular oxygen supply) due to airway obstruction, also traces of general anesthesia are found in his body." Sophie said while looking at the file she was holding.
"So, my assumptions were correct, he was unconscious when bought there and then hanged to death, probably the reason their weren't any marks on his body indicating no violence." I said.
"Could it be possible that, he was with someone he knew?"
"Ya, it could be that case."
"And what is the time of his death mentioned?"
"In between 1am- 2 am." Sophie replied diligently.
"Sir, what about his identity? If he isn't Richard Smith then, who is he? And why would someone kill him?" Cooper questioned.
"I don't know... probably revenge." I said with a blank face even though I didn't know his true identification or the reason of his murder till now, I knew it was the face I would never forget as I briefly touched my left arm adorned with a deep scar.
"Dave, help me, I don't wanna die"
"Please, leave her alone, take whatever you want, please"
"Dave.." she cried out.
"No.. please I beg you, just leave her alone"
"Sir, you alright?" Cooper called out as I was snapped out of my thoughts.
"Huh, uh-h ya I am fine." I didn't want to be grief stricken when my role here was crucial.
"You sure, you zoned out"
"I'm alright Cooper." I said with tight lips not wanting to think about that subject further.
"Nevertheless, you found out about the car which was parked there"?
"Yes Sir, a report had been filed about two weeks ago that a car was stolen from a garage, I cross checked the details of it and it is the same car."
"And who's the owner of the car?"
"Professor Jack Watson, he came to the garage for the yearly maintenance but due to his death a year ago, the car never got picked up."
"Okay, If you find any more details tell me immediately"
"Yes sir." Cooper replied.
As I was examining the dead body, I saw an eagle tattoo on the inner side of his right wrist, and with that I was sure I was not seeing things.
"Cooper, check the last ten years criminal records, I'm sure he will be in that list." I said with urgency.
"But sir.."
"Just do what I say"I firmly told him.
"Also, tell the Smith's that we need proper identification of Richard, in case if needed."
He nodded and left.
(Half and hour later)
"Sir, I have found all the possible information that you might need about him." Cooper said
"Adrian Wales(along with photograph)
Age-26 years old
Used to be a member of the Falcon gang, was sentenced to life imprisonment for six murders in 2013, escaped from central jail in 2016."As I was searching through the missing report files which were sprawled across the desk, I stopped turning the pages vigorously when I found the one I was looking for.
