(James POV)
"James call the ambulance, quick" Dave Sir called out, panic evident in his voice.
I took out my phone and dialled the number.
"Hello, we need an ambulance quickly, it's an emergency." They jotted down our location and with that I ended the call.
Richard lay there his clothes wet, body weak and face drained out of colours, as we searched for more evidence.
Dave squatted down on one knee near Richard, and started feeling for his pulse on his wrist and neck, noticing a few scratches on his face and neck, as he turned his face from side to side.
"I don't feel anything. How long is it going to take for the ambulance to reach here?"
"Around 5 minutes."
"Copper check for his pockets."
Cooper nodded and started searching, but returned empty handed.
"No, sir there's nothing in there."
That's when a screeching sound of tyres were heard, we turned our heads around to see the ambulance arriving there. Two people came out of it with a stretcher running towards us. They swiftly picked up Richard and we all were on our way to the hospital.
[In the hospital]
Richard was rushed into the emergency room, which was quite obvious looking at his condition. The doctors were performing various tests to ensure his health for the past 1 hour.
His pulse and heart beat was so weak, that we thought he almost died.
"Cooper, I need you to inform the Smith's about this and tell them to come here." Dave said, as we all waited in the hospital lobby.
He nodded and exited from there, leaving me and Dave sir there.
(Dave's POV)
We were waiting in the lobby waiting for the Smith's to come as Richard was being examined by professionals.
I lifted myself off from the wall I was leaning on as we heard the door opening and the doctor Daniel, an old friend of mine stepping out of the room.
"Hey buddy," he said, shaking hands with me.
"Hey, how are you?"
"All good. Has his parent's arrived yet?"
"No, but they'll be here soon. What about him?" I said looking back at Richard through the small glass window on the door.
"His condition is quite critical. His pulse is very faint and breathing almost non-existent. His lungs are filled with water and we had put him on a ventilator. His body is drained out of fluids and some injuries and fractures."
"Ya, I figured. Could we talk to him though?"
"No, absolutely not, he isn't in state to talk, and forget about talking, at this stage the chances of him being alive are pretty slim."
"But will he..." I started to say but was interrupted by Daniel saying
"We're trying our best to save him. We had put him under medicine so he won't be getting up for a few hours."
"Alright. I'll be here tonight."
"Ya, after my shift we could maybe catch up."
"Ya sure, it's been years." I said a sweet smile dancing on my lips as we hugged.
That's when Mr and Mrs Smith came in followed by Cooper and hastily pushed me out of the way to have a look at their son through the window. I mean, I know you are desperate but you don't need to be rude like that.
