Casey's POV
20th March 2020

Now that I was closer to the city, it mean't I could have an extra hour and a half in bed and it felt fantastic. Considering I was in a completely new place, I slept great, I didn't hear Jacob come in after his shift or any of the neighbours, thinking about neighbours I don't know if I should introduce myself or if Jacob has even told anyone he is getting a room mate. I walked into the bathroom to take a shower, as I was too tired last night, I put the towel on the back of the door hook and tried to figure out the heating of the water. Luckily the bathroom had both a shower and a bath but on a morning I enjoyed a shower to wake me up. The shower took a good 2 minutes before the temperate was at the heat I liked. I had brought my own toiletries with me but Jacob had all his around the side of the bath, from shampoo to even exfoliation.

After showering, I got ready with one of the dresses I could hang up, I felt so much fresher waking up this morning, I even had time to put that little extra bit of make up on.

I made sure I had my keys in my bag and headed to my car. My travel to work was a total of 23 minutes.

As I walked into my office, everyone was running around in a panic, I knew the schedule of all our clients and I knew nothing of importance was happening today. I walked up to my manager and asked what was going on

'Have you not heard Casey?' She asked flabbergasted, I looked around to see people putting their computer equipment and files into their bags. 'Apparently England are going into a lockdown meaning you can't leave your house so you need to collect everything you can take and start working from home'

'What, for how long, I've just moved into a new place to be closer to the office' The whole point of me moving out was to be closer to work but now I'm finding out I am going to be working from home any ways

'Hopefully just a month. Now, Kyle is setting you up a laptop and equipment, you just need to get your files sorted and packed' I walked away from my manger very confused, nobody had mentioned this yesterday, there's always rumours going around the office but this had clearly come as a surprise to everyone. I walked up to my desk and started to empty my draws, I felt like I had been fired as I filled up a cardboard box full of my things. I wasn't sure if I should head back to live with my parents for a month or stay at my new "home", I would need to talk to Jacob about it because I don't know where all this equipment that our IT department was going to give me was going to go, I didn't know what exact time Jacob gets in from work and if working from home would disturb him, I felt bad ditching him because it's obvious he needs the money and the only way he can get extra is by someone living with him.

By the time IT had sorted all my equipment, two boxes full,  it was 11am. I decided to pull my car to outside the office, praying that I wouldn't get a parking ticket, and packed the boot with all my work gear. It felt like deja vu. I didn't pull up to the flat till 12pm, so far my Friday was not going as planned, I had not got any work done and now I had 3 boxes to carry upstairs. I prayed that Jacob was in and he could help me so I didn't have to do multiple trips to the parking lot. I put my key into the door

'Jacob' I yelled, I could hear noises coming from the apartment. I saw a figure pop up from the sitting room but it wasn't Jacobs figure. Instead, it was a girl, she was very pretty with long blonde hair however she had a scowl on her face

'I can't believe you have a girlfriend' She screamed jumping to the completely wrong conclusion, at this point Jacob decided to join the room in just a pair of joggers. Not that I'm complaining but why does this guy always walk around half naked?

'No, no' Me and Jacob both started at the same time. Oh god, this was not how I imagined coming back. The girl grabbed her heels which were at the front door and stormed out the flat without another word. Me and Jacob stood staring awkwardly at each other in silence.

'I can't believe you've just done that. What are you even doing here?' He asked, skimming past me to go to the kitchen

'Excuse me, I've done nothing except return to my home. Your the one who bought the poor girl home for a one night stand'

'Woah your not my mother, it's my home, I can bring whoever the hell I want back' I don't know how it had happened but this conversation had somehow turned into a screaming match. I had briefly met the man last night and this was how our first real conversation was going. I didn't reply and instead walked to my bedroom. I decided if work had any problem, I would just say I was having IT difficulties. I don't know how long I was in my room, just staring at the walls but my attention was diverted when there was a knock on the door.

'Come in' Jacob opened the door, fully clothed, he looked around the room as if it was a new place

'Look, I don't think we got off to the best start but I've made some extra pasta, if you want to have tea before I go to work' I agreed. I followed him out of my room into the kitchen to find it an absolute mess but couldn't complain because there was a huge bowl of pasta on the side waiting for me. We both grabbed out dishes and sat opposite each other at the dinning room table. There was a awkward silence for the first few mouthful until Jacob broke it

'So what were you doing home so early?' It was nice that he referred to it as home, I hope that means he accepts me living here

'Our whole office has been told we have to work from home for the next month because apparently we're not allowed to leave our house'

'That sounds like some sort of Domesday shit' Jacob replied, shoving a fork full of pasta into his mouth

'Yeah well I don't know if I should go back to living with my parents or work from here' It was half a statement and half a question

'It doesn't effect me, I can go out and see friends through the day whilst you work here and on the night I work any ways' By the end of tea, which I was very grateful for, I had decided to stay with Jacob, I would set up my work gear at the dinning table on Monday morning.

After tea, I said goodbye goodbye to Jacob as he set off for another night at work and I got ready for my first weekend of living in Newcastle.
