it was a cold march night. it was pouring down with rain. i was in my apartment all alone with nothing to do. i sat on my sofa watching tv before i heard a knock on my door.
i opened it and saw harry standing with water dripping down. "harry?" i furrowed my eyebrows "what are you doing here?"
"can i come in?" his voice warmed my heart. i hadn't seen him since new years. i kept on making excuses when olivia asked the whole group to hang out so i didn't have to face emily and harry.
i nodded my head and let him in. we sat on the sofa together. "how did you even know that i live here?"
"i dropped olivia off once. didnt she mention it to you?" harry wrapped the blanket around him.
"no she never." i bit down on my bottom lip. "how comes youre here? are you okay? you look like you haven't had a good night sleep in days." harry broke down into tears. i hugged him even though i was so confused. "harry what is wrong?"
"i'm loosing myself." he cried into my neck. "please help me."
"hun," i couldn't believe how emotional he was "tell me, what is it?"
"i have no one to blame but myself."
"harry, what's happened?" he looked at me with bloodshot eyes and a puffy face.
"emily-," his voice croaked "we are over."
"wait why?" i furrowed my eyebrows.
"we weren't happy like the way we made out to be. we ar- we were toxic." harry confessed.
"what do you mean?" i ran my fingers through his hair.
"i've been sleeping in my car because she kicked me out of the apartment."
"but that's your apartment?"
"i know." he sniffled "i haven't had a proper sleep in almost a week. i got robbed a few days ago."
"harry what the fuck?" i was shocked by the way he was so hurt. "what has she done to you?"
"she was cheating on me. she's been cheating on me on and off since we got together. why do you think i didn't feel bad while i was with you? why do you think i told you not to worry about her?" everything harry said started to make sense.
"harry..." my jaw dropped "i don't even know what to say."
"please help me. i cant do this anymore. i thought the night we got engaged she promised to never cheat or hurt me again but she cheated on me a few weeks later but i took her back like a fool."
"harry where did you meet this girl? she's crazy." i couldn't believe their whole thing was fake. they put on a act.
"we fell in love and we weren't right for each other. you were both trying to fill a void."
"it's okay." i kissed the top of his head. "did you report the robbery?"
"yeah the police are on it. they have the guy, they're just replacing my stuff." he explained. "i should've stayed with you. i let go of a good thing." he looked at me up and down. he kissed my lips and smiled. i kissed the tears off his face. "don't ever leave me again." i locked our hands and hit harry with my nose softly.
harry explained to me everything emily done to him. they were only "happy" together when they were around others, but other than that, they were always screaming and arguing with each other.
"and when i met you... i knew i couldn't let go of you. so the day we ended things, i drank the rest of the days away." harry told me.
"harry im so sorry." i rubbed his arm gently. "we will figure this out. you tried to give her you all, and she didn't appreciate you."
"thank you for being here for me."
"trust me, my love, i'll always be here for you. no matter what happens between us. you can always count on me."
harry and i sat on the sofa and caught up. i tried to get his mind off of everything and i think it was working.
we were sitting and talking and he had me laughing hysterically as well.
why did we have to get along so well? why did be have to be so cute? it's impossible to ignore him. it was bad enough we got along so well.
"it's so cold." harry shivered.
"i know." i got up and went to the heating pad and pressed a few buttons but it wasn't working "the heatings down." i groaned "it's so cold! please turn on!" i spoke to myself.
"it's fine. we can just use blankets." harry chucked as i walked back into the living room.
i got all the blankets out from the storage from and placed them on my large l shaped coach, and i also got a bottle of my favourite red wine that harry showed me.
i tried to find any excuse to stay awake with him. harry being in my presence made me really happy.
i placed my glass on the floor and shivered "are you that cold?" harry chuckled.
"yeah." i rubbed my hands together.
"come here." he opened his arms and i crawled into them. "you know you've got a fire." harry laughed.
"yeah but i don't know how to put it on." i looked up at him.
"let me try." harry got up and in a second the fireplace was on.
he laid back down and i laid my head on his chest. "remember that night we sat at that beach all night together and watched the sunrise together?" harry asked me.
"yeah... i blew air into my mouth "that was one of my favourite dates."
"why did we end this? we are good together."
"i think your mind forgets all the bad things. all the arguing."
"that was only because of me, because i was stressed out because of emily." harry rubbed my head.
"so what do you want to do now?" i turned around resting my chin on his shoulder.
"i want to be with to you." he kissed me.
"just keep on kissing me softly." i rolled my eyes.
harry turned us over so his body was hovering over mine. we kept our lips connected and our spark was still there.
