"Listen kid, life is not a clear road or a staircase of gold, it isn't all good." Nightmare started, looking into the stars, "It's a dangerous place full of evil. It withholds battles of the unknown. It's like a clock. It always tells the time. It shows how much time is left, it displays an arrangement of battles. Your time is always coming closer, it's just a matter of time before something happens." He looked you dead in the eye.
"Take me as an example. I bit the apple.. And turned into this." He flicked his tentacles over behind your back, casting a shadow on the island behind you.
You pull at his sleeve, getting his attention. He looked at you with a sad expression. You tilted your head in confusion.
Nightmare chuckled, "It's not as simple as I put it, isn't it?"
You shake your head no.
"Oh, if only you understood, kid. Now C'mon," Nightmare got up, picking you up by his tentacles, "Let us get back to the castle, the others are probably worried sick!" He pretended to worry sarcastically.
You laugh as you both headed into the open portal together.
