Sugar licked his lollipop silently in the Gymnasium, waiting for the assembly to end. He could hear people talking behind him, then snickers as the talking got closer to him. He knw they were making fun of him, they always did. He sighed and leaned against the wall as a teacher came up to him.
"Sugar, sweetheart, we can go back to class now, okay?" The male student said, offering a hand.
Sugar just nodded and slid off the bleachers, lollipop in mouth. The kids snickered as Sugar wandered out of the Gymnasium.
As they walked down the hall, Sugar carried a question with him. A question he now longed to ask, but never found the right moment. When it was just him and someone else. But now, the time was perfect. He looked at the older male and blushed slightly before looking away.
"Sugar.. Were those kids making fun of you again?" The male monster asked, looking at the smaller.
Sugar shrugged and continued walking. The male stopped and grabbed his wrist, turning the other to him. They were almost face-to-face, causing Sugar's face to explode with bright, soft colors.
"If they ever, and I mean EVER, make fun of you. You come to me, alright? You don't deserve that, sweety.." He said, a hand on the side of Sugar's face.
Sugar smiled and hugged the taller.
"Thank you, Melon!" Sugar replied.
