As soon as we got to the hospital I wasted no time getting to Stefans room. My heart was pounding it felt like I couldn't get there fast enough. I reached the door and took a deep breath before opening it. Lily and Tom was in the room chatting, my eyes landing on Stefan and there he was staring down at Payton as she held onto one of his fingers with her eyes closed. My heart softened at the view. He looked up at me and gave me a weak smile.

"Haley." He said and I walked up to the bed. I leaned down and hugged him while also making sure I didn't squish Payton.

"Hi." I whispered. I felt tears forming in my eyes but I didn't want to cry in front of everyone. "How are you feeling?" I pulled away from him.

"Very sore." He answered. "She fell asleep in my arms." He said looking back down at her. "I thought I left her for a minute."

"Me too." I said and he looked up at me confused. He didn't know what happened to me.

"Nathan pushed me down the stairs. I was banged up really bad." I say.

"Your cousin?" He said shook.

"Unfortunately." I say back.

"Haley wheres Damien?" Lily asked me. "He's not answering his phone."

"I got in contact with him. He's handling some business for me." Stefan said and everyone in the room stared at him.

"What business?" Tom asked eyeing Stefan.

"Gio." Stefan answered.

"Gio Espinoza?" Tom asked. "Is that who's responsible for this?"

"Yes."

"Dear God!" Lily exclaimed. "How long have you known about this? Why didn't you come to us the moment you realized he might've been involved?"

"Did you know Gio was behind this?" I asked him frowning.

"What do you know about Gio?" He asked looking at me.

"Charlotte just squealed at the sheriffs station." I say.

"Charlottes back?" He asked.

"Yes she just confessed to everything Nathan and Mia had done and told us about Gio." I responded. "Now answer my question."

"And mine." Lily said sternly.

"I had my suspicions the first time things started going wrong with my company. After that I hired a private investigator to do some digging on his whereabouts and who he's been in contact with." He said. "I didn't tell anyone because I wasn't sure. By the time I was figuring things out Mia was shooting me in the stomach."

I briefly closed my eyes. "Stefan why didn't you tell me?" I say.

"Because you were pregnant and I didn't want you worrying about it." He said honestly.

"And what about your father and I? We've handled Gio before we could have did it again." Lily said.

"I'm not a kid. I don't want you cleaning up my messes. Last time you cleaned it up I barely had experience you knew how to handle it and I didn't."

"So stubborn." Tom said. "But you've always had a good head on your shoulders." Tom wrapped his around Lily in a calming manner.

He looked at me and I couldn't even give him a fake smile. He knew something was going on and decided to keep it from me.
