Senior year.

Something that most teenagers can't wait for. Something that they've wanted to achieve all their life since pre school. It was definitely something I'm proud of.

So here I stand, on the behalf of my first day of senior year, in my room completely and fully ready to go. I could practically feel the anticipation in my stomach, more like butterflies as they scatter around. I have all my needs and materials ready before I head out my car (the one I got for my 17th birthday.)

"Hey Mom!" I kissed her cheek as she sat at the table with her glasses on while reading her daily newspaper.

"Good morning baby." She greeted and sipped her coffee.

'Boy, that never gets old.'

My mom is like the other half of me, or should I say my best friend. Every since my dad died two years ago she's been my rock. She's been working non stop to make sure that all the bills are paid and that there's food on the table every night. Even though I'm capable of helping her out.

"You want me to drive you to school today?" She asked and laid down her news paper.

"Um, that's okay I was actually going to take my car today, I'll text you when I get to school." I grabbed an apple and headed out the door.

I place my things in the backseat of my car and head off to school. As soon as I pulled in the parking lot, it was full of students everywhere. Between some kissing against there cars to some just standing around with the long lost friends from the summer. I shook my head to myself before finding a parking spot and unloaded my things. It took me no time to get to my locker and place my things in it.

Thank god I no longer had to take P.E, being that I've taken it the last three years of my high-school life.

The halls began to crowd as endless voices filled the hall. Their were voices coming from everywhere as people caught up on gossip. Sometimes I wish I had a best friend that I could connect but I was just plain old me. I hardly had time for friends I prefer to stay to myself.

I load my books into my hands and headed to first period. Nothing like being on time.

Luckily by the time I got to my class, the teacher was already there loading her desk. I assumed she was new here being that the walls and stuff were empty.

"Oh!" She said startled as she turned around and seen me sitting at my desk. "Are you in my new first period?"

"Yep." I said nodding my head slowly.

She looked me up and down critically before turning back to her desk. I looked down at my grey sweat pants, black hoodie, my black slide shoes. I guess you say I don't really try to dress fancy for school. I didn't even feel like doing anything to my hair this morning beside putting it in a perfect messy bun.

Soon after, the school bell pulled me out of my non thoughtless mind. I watched as the class began to fill in with different students. The woman who was supposed to be my teacher, stood in the middle of the class with a smile plastered on her face.

"Okay hello guys!" She said enthusiastically. "First, I want to tell you guys a little bit about myself... My name is Amy but you can call me Mrs. Raymond. I have been married for 5 years now. I have no kids sadly. And I also love the talking about early childhood and birth." She rambled on.

I hadn't even had time to change my scheduled or even look at what was on it. If I would have known I'd be taking a baby class I would have reconsidered my options.

"This year I want to talk about the importance of learning about early childhood and birth which includes talking about safety while having sex, diseases you can catch, and of course the main topic which is pregnancy. Which I'm sure you all know about." She reached on to her desk and grab a stack of papers.

"Mrs. Raymond you have a new student, her name is Emilia." The consular said as he peeped in the door way.

"Of course! Send Miss Emilia in." She said as she smiled towards him.

The class watched as Emilia came into the room. She was pretty. I at least had to admit that. Her short blonde hair hung wavy on her shoulders and her summer dress stopped just above her knees as it flared out.

"Hello Emilia, Class let's make our new student feel welcome." She said as she pushed Emilia to the seat next to me.

"Hey don't worry I don't think she'll be this happy the rest of the year." I whispered to Emilia.

She turned towards as the smile covered her worried look. "You're the first person to talk to me, what's your name?"

"It's Haley." I Introduced myself.

"That's very pretty." She commented.

I never said that I wanted didn't want friends, I just don't prefer them. But I think Emilia might be just what I need.
