I woke up and decided to take a shower before it was time to leave .The warm water ran down my body, steam filling the tiny bathroom. I always tend to think deeper in the shower so there was no surprise I was thinking of Dr. Hemmings. He has such an amazing spirit. Informing me of saving hundreds of children's lives all around the world. And those eyes, a deep ocean of blue. How I always got lost in his gaze. But then I remembered, today was my day to return home. The thought of leaving Dr. Hemmings after countless nights of never ending conversations made my heart sink. I really didn't want to leave him, but I haven't worked up the nerve to tell him.
I turned the shower handle off, sudden coolness captivating all the warmth. I grabbed a towel, wrapping it around my body and swinging open the door. The pale white walls of the hospital room still made me nauseous. I walk over to my bed where my clothes were spread across the sheets. I was about to un wrap my towel when the door swung open, causing me to jump a little.
In came Dr. Hemmings with a stupid smirk on his face once realizing the lack of clothes. "Doctor!" , I shouted while wrapping the towel around me tighter. He just stared at me. His perfectly pink tongue slipped out to moist his lips. "I just came to check on you. I didn't know you'd be up this early". I stared at him not knowing what to say. He always leaves me speechless. "You usually wake up around nine" his accent spoke loudly.
Confusion spread across my face. Had he been watching me sleep the last couple of days? I thought he had left after I drifted off. I walked towards him gently pushing out the door, leaving my thoughts for later. I told him I'll be out in a minute.
As I closed the door I brought myself to my bed. I slipped on my clothes and gathered all my belongings. Walking towards the door, millions of thoughts roamed my mind. I've always hated when that happens because it caused me major headaches. But the thought of his beautiful blue orbs seemed to ease my migraine.
I swung the open the door to find him leaning against the wall. He smiled at me and took my hand. We roamed long hallways and stair flights until we finally arrived at the door. Butterflies filled my stomach, I didn't want to leave him. My car awaited me, my best friend Noel must have brought it. Noel has always been so caring.
Dr. Hemmings hand untangled with mine, the warm presence leaving. He walked me to my car door, stopping in front of me and staring down at me. He toward over me, making me feel weak. His strong arms wrapped around my waist, pulling me closer. My arms circled around his neck. We stayed pressed together like this for what felt like forever until he let go, lifting my chin up. He brought his plump pink lips down and left a soft kiss on my forehead, before opening my door and helping me in. As I drove away anger filled me. *Why hadn't I asked him to meet me sometime or give him my number?*
After about 10 minutes, I pulled up to the driveway of my house. My hands found my bag, opening the car door, and walking to the door of my home. After unlocking the door my bag slouched to the floor, along with me. Hands on my head thinking of my beautiful doctor. There was a vibration coming from my bag. My hands searched for my phone until I held it up to reveal a text.
*Luke: Feelings are things we can't hide, look into my eyes and you'll see it's so. Ain't no other way that I can let you know but to tell you I do.*
My lips curled into a smile. Images of his orbs dancing through my thoughts. There was a knock at the door. I lifted up and fixed my shirt before opening the door. Blonde hair was my first sight, then deep ocean blue eyes. My eyes widen at the sight of him. "Doctor?"
A wide grin crossed his face. He was carrying a bouquet of white roses. They were beautiful.
"Luke" he responded. "My name is Luke."
