Iwaizumi couldn't believe his ears when he heard it. He had to look at Oikawa to confirm what he had heard from (Y/N)'s lips. Even Oikawa was too shocked to tease Iwaizumi on the predicament at hand. And that said a lot considering Oikawa's history of teasing Iwaizumi.

"Tantan!"

He wasn't sure who the hell she was calling but he knew damn well it wasn't him or Oikawa. He wasn't aware of this friend with this nickname. And he knew all her friends because she wanted her childhood friends to become buddy-buddy with her other friends. This was because she didn't want to come to the day where she had to pick sides on who to hang out with, when they have the option to hang out altogether.

But that wasn't the point. The point was: who the hell was this "Tantan" person? Iwaizumi turned to see (Y/N) tackle Kyotani and throw her arm over his shoulder. The boy in question wasn't fond of the nickname nor the sudden contact, but he showed no signs of stopping her.

Iwaizumi looked back at Oikawa once more but he was still stumped. Since when were they that close?

(Y/N) spotted her childhood friends and dragged Kyotani with her towards the two. "Hey, Iwawawa, Oikos. You guys wanna fill our stomachs with BBQ after school?"

Oikawa finally snapped from his shocked and confused state to ask with a hopeful brow, "Are you paying, (Y/N/N)?"

(Y/N) almost cackled in response but replied, "Hah—No! But I'm willing to split the bill." She whipped out her wallet to flaunt the single bill sitting patiently inside.

Oikawa snatched the wallet to check the price of the bill and laughed mockingly. "With what money," he teased as he waved the bill worth a single piece of candy.

"That's my lunch money," (Y/N) protested the bullying antic of Oikawa's and quickly ditched the younger boy to chase after her belonging.

As the two chased each other around the hallway, Iwaizumi looked at Kyotani who was watching the girl. Iwaizumi began to wonder if the underclassman could be "Tantan". But it didn't make sense to Iwaizumi. The kid hadn't known (Y/N) for that long right...? How long has it been since they were first introduced? A few months or more? Iwaizumi seemed to have lost track of time worrying about her advances toward the kid.

"Lunch money? What happened to your mom's packed lunches?" Oikawa could be heard asking as he ran around the hallway and using passerbys as his shield.

(Y/N) managed to catch the boy by tripping him with her thrown shoe. She retrieved her bill and wallet as she answered, "Oh, I forgot my lunch at home. No worries though, I can survive on some bread until the end of school." She pocketed her wallet before reattaching herself to Kyotani's shoulders which earned an unknowing glare from Iwaizumi.

Iwaizumi snatched her wallet and put a few spare bills in it as he demanded, "We'll share our lunches with you. Come to our class during lunch."

Jealousy consumed the high schooler as he turned on his heel and shoved his hands in his pockets before walking away. Oikawa followed behind ready to tease but was interrupted by (Y/N).

"Thanks, Iwa! You coming to eat BBQ though? Please tell me you're going," (Y/N) pleaded with a hopeful look in her eyes. The eyes looking at Iwaizumi almost made him waved, but he hated the thought she already gave Kyotani a nickname. Would she bring Mad Dog to eat BBQ?

The question was answered immediately as she added, "Tantan's coming too, it was his idea after all. So, you in or you out?"

Tantan? The repeated nickname made Iwaizumi's blood run cold and he hated both his jealousy and the name. The thought of her calling Kyotani by his nickname and hearing it while eating dinner with the kid was already ruining his mood for the future. It sickened him to the core.

"No, I have to go home and make dinner," Iwaizumi responded much angrier than he would have liked.

"Really? What about you Oikos?"

Oikawa, meanwhile, was loving every second. From his pathetic friend's jealousy, to his other friend's oblivious response to the former. A smirk crawled over his lips and he said, "Yeah, I'll go. Someone has to pay for the meals anyways. We don't need Iwa to have a good time."

"But I wanted all of us to go...," (Y/N) mumbled in what could only be considered a whimper of disappointment. It caught Iwaizumi's attention and he turned around only to make him want to punch himself.

She looked so disappointed and disheartened that he wanted to slam his head on the wall and squeeze the life out of his stabbed heart. What made it worse was that he caused that expression. But he reaped what he sowed. He turned on his heel and walked away with Oikawa following behind.

Oikawa threw his arm over Iwaizumi's shoulder and called out to (Y/N). "Iwa's just a sore loser, forget about it. Meet me at the school gates after school," Oikawa said as he waved goodbye and dragged Iwaizumi with him.

In a voice below a whisper, Oikawa teased, "Smooth move, Iwa. Is our Ace jealous? You never thought Mad Dog would be taking your spot in this way, hm?"

That struck the last of Iwaizumi's tolerance and patience. He pushed Oikawa's face away and continued walking without him.

Oikawa, though, wasn't expecting this as a reaction. He watched Iwaizumi and immediately knew that the kid and (Y/N) getting along too well was hitting the Ace more than he suspected. He wondered if this would affect their practice and future matches.

Oikawa shook the thought away and caught up to Iwaizumi. He decided that it would be good to play it safe with his friend for the rest of the day.
