Chapter 2

After my daily litany tests and my daily dose of an injection of a strange-looking-fluid-that-I-don't-care-anymore-cause-I-got-used-to-it, I can finally move around my room. It is my safe haven. I can also freely move around some areas in the building with surveillance because today is my favorite season.

Ah, finally free from work.

Winter is coming and the number of letters I receive is decreasing because of the constant rain that makes the road towards this place slippery. They probably warned the kids that they can continue writing letters after winter so that their 'adopted' brothers and sisters can focus more time with their family, and they themselves could also play with their siblings this winter. But they can at least send letters in limited numbers.

In reality, it is my vacation. This is why I love winter. I can freely go out and relax in the meadow field they made here in Lambda. It's not like a hologram or such, it's real. It is like a wide greenhouse, but the ceiling part is an artificial-like sky. Plants and some animals here are alive.

To be honest, I haven't seen the outside world so I have no idea what it looks like but I could at least imagine in the books I read. I've been locked here since I could remember. Of course, there are surveillance so that they would know if I'm acting suspiciously.

The sad thing is...there are only a few who can enter this place including me. It's not that the others are not allowed...most stay indoors because of their...disabilities caused by various experiments. I always pass by them whenever I went back to my room and I feel bad for them.
I'm glad I can take those experiments given to me.

I took in the fresh air as soon as I enter the room.
Ah, I really miss coming here!

It seems there's no one in here again. Everyone's busy. Everyone's having their usual days... And I'm alone here. Even Dr. Smee can't come and visit this winter. I missed Afee, a fluffy owl that is nice to cuddle. I wonder if she's doing fine with the doctor...

But, it's fine. I'm used to it. I usually like being alone anyway. I might be an introvert I guess, but I feel lonely.

I just sat down in the grass under the shade of a tree.
I should've gotten a book before getting in here.

...

sigh

I wonder if he'll come today as well.

"Looking for me?"

"Oh, speak of the devil."

It's him.

And I don't know why but he calls himself,

  ?̴̝̯̲͇̳̬́̓͌̈́̏̑̚m̸̧̪̱͓͓̃-̵̡̢̹̳̥̱͙͙̻͂͂͒̉̾;̵̡̨̱̝͕̯̳̪̆ǐ̸̧̨̱̦̠̠͒̎̾̓̎̊̚͘ͅh̸̖̙̗͗̓̆̔̉͝

My imaginary friend.
