The Thing

"Hey Jack! Come and see this! Over" Jeremy called me from afar.

I wondered what they have discovered here in Polus. We have been digging the soil and building an outpost here for our experiment now for 2 months already. Austronauts job can be a little stressing sometimes.

Some of our Crewmates are exploring this vast planet while me, Jeremy, and other 8 Crew are safeguarding the Camp. The purple soil of this lands expands until the farthest reach of our eyes. Thick pile of snows are randomly scattered around and they are white as the ones on Earth.

We should've stayed back at the outpost but this time, we asked for our commander to just take us outside a bit real quick so we can also eperience the outside of the Outpost like the Explorers, so here we are.

I beeped my transaction device and told to him "Where are you?? Over"

After a while he replied with the same beep.

"We are all at the Northside of our drop ship! Come on you gotta see this! Over"

Oh, that intruiges me so bad! I wanna know. Whenever we are outside of our Outpost, our speed decreases due to the pull of gravity. I can't run towards them fast enough to see.

Our commander stabilized the gravity back at Polus Outpost already but not yet on the whole planet.

We don't know what's lurking in here yet you know.

Oh I found them!

I saw Jeremy gestures at me with joy and then waved his hand as if saying "Come here! Faster!"

We can't hear each other with just our Space Suit that's why we need the Transtaction Device to speak. The only bad thing about that is that the signal where the frequency can travel was too low range that we can never talk each other anymore if we go too far away.

All the Crew surrounds a hole that has been digged. It appeares to be that theres a weird slimey purple goo on the center of it.

"The heck is that?" I asked

"It appears to be some kind of a living Creature Jack" John told me

It appears so,.. the goo is slightly moving and the texture of it seemed alien.

It's so disgusting and scary. Ugkhh!

"Sydney and Leslie!, take the Containers at the DropShip and let's take this thing back at Station to deliver it to Mira HQ."
Commander Rae instructed them.

Without a word, they hurry and took the containers on the DropShip.

I saw Thomas trying to poke the creature with his feet.

He's the youngest of us, and it's his first time coming to Polus too. If it wasn't for me, he'd be headed to the greenhouse task on Mira, observing the plants there with leaves atop of his suit.

I pushed the board though to add him in here, in this Team.

"Stop it Dr Thomas! Don't make me regret my choice letting you here!" Commander Rea scold

"Uhm uh... I was just testing it, I didn't mean to-

"It's alright Thomas, I got you back"
Jeremy said, backing Thomas up.

Jeremy here is the second in Command, and the only brave one to oppose Rae.

"It's alright Jeremy, I can handle it" Thomas thanked "You're so nice"

"What are these tree slime doing here anyway?" Ali asked, th engineer. John and him were.

It would be really interesting to know right? We will do experiment on that in Specimen to figure out it's whole being.
