Chapter 18

NAINA's POV

I had just finished taking a shower and it was 2:00. I walked to the living room to find Akash sitting at the table reading some mail, I went over and sat next to him. Just then his phone rang.
Without looking at the caller id he answered.

"Hello, yeh I'm good how are you.... well... I have work today......but naina's here.... she doesn't mind...ok" he said hanging up the phone.

"What happened? " I asked, confused because obviously he said my name. He turned to look at me.

"Jessica called and she has a business trip tonight, so when they go on trips they usually leave their baby here, Ella, but I have to work today, so I told them that you would watch her"

I nodded. I didn't have any- OMG, I forgot I had to go with Niall tonight. I'll have to call him and cancel.

"When are they coming? And when are you going to work?"

"She said she'll come about in a hour and I'm leaving at 6" he replied, looking through his mail again.

"6? Isn't that late"

"Yeh, but one of the workers is sick so I have to cover for them"

"Oh"

The doorbell rung and Akash opened the door, already in his uniform for work.

"Hi" she greeted everyone and I did the same. Jessica was also my cousin, but she was a distant cousin, we never really talked, just sometimes at family gatherings.

She handed me a bag full of all the baby stuff and then put the baby one the sofa. She told me what to do at what time and everything like that and quickly left, I guess she's running late.

I looked Ella sleeping peacefully on the couch. She was so cute!!!! This was going to be easy, I used to babysit when I was a teen and I loved it, but that was a long time ago.

"Don't worry, you'll do fine" Akash said as he put on his jacket.

"Leaving already" I asked pouting.

"Yeh, I gotta there in time" he smiled and said goodbye, stepping out in the cold air.

I sighed, I'm all alone. Just then I remembered I had to tell Niall that I couldn't make it, so I pulled out my phone and dialed his number.

"Hello"
"Hi" I said.
"I won't be able to come today, I have to babysit." I said, wanting to end the conversation fast because Ella was waking up.

"Oh, ok" Niall said, you could hear his heart breaking over the phone. I felt so bad.

"You can come over after the show is over, I'll be awake" I said, trying to make him happy.

Instantly he said sure and we said our goodbyes, just in time because Ella was starting to wake up.

I went over and picked her up, cradling her in my arms and walking around.

I put Ella back on the sofa when she was fully awake and we started to play.

"Peek- a- boo" I said as I removed my hands from my face. She laughed with delight, she is really to cute!

The doorbell rang and I glanced at the clock,8:30, it's probably the boys, the show was over by now. When I looked back at Ella I saw that she was crying.

"Sh, shh, It was just the doorbell" I said, picking her up trying to calm her down. I grouned and opened the door, still trying to calm Ella.

"HI" their smiles quickly turned into confusion.
