Reopened Wounds (Rewritten Opposites Attract)

Part 12

A large metal suit trips over a rock and I leap over him, hearing Bucky laugh at the poor man inside. We all gathered about a mile from the barrier as Steve, Panther, and Natasha go to speak to the leaders.

Bucky asks from my back, "Did they surrender?"

"Not exactly" is the answer we got, I see in the distance black creatures rushing out of the tree-line. I hear the Wankandans chanting as more creatures dash to the shield.

"What the hell?" I hear Bucky mutter, the things kill themselves trying to get through to us. Some start making it into Wakanda and the Border tribe puts up their shields in front of the others. Everyone starts firing at them, I bark as I see some movement around the perimeter, Bruce seems to see it too and warns Cap. T'challa leads the charge towards the creatures, the barrier opens letting the things in. Steve, T'challa, and I speed in front of everyone. Whoa there doll Bucky says trying to shoot and hold on for dear life. I tear through the creatures, but they seem to multiply. Bucky keeps shooting from my back, not holding on anymore, since Shuri made it so that it would attach to Bucky's suit.

One beast I don't see jumps on Bucky, he drops his gun and I try to grab the thing with my jaws but I can't reach it. Bucky kills it with a knife and I toss him his gun from where I picked it up off the ground. A beam of light appears next to me, a hammer shooting through it and taking out some beasts. The light fades, showing a man in armor and a red cape with a raccoon holding a gun and a tree thing. Lightning springs from the man as he slams his hammer into the ground, sending some beasts flying. Bucky and I stand near the raccoon, and as more creatures surround us, Bucky picks up the raccoon. Spin Doll! I huff at the idea I see in his head and start turning in a circle hearing the two shoot at the things.

He drops the raccoon and shoots more as the small mammal speaks, "How much for the gun?"

"Not for sale"

"How much for the arm?" I snarl at the being as he begins to annoy me. Giant wheels shoot up from the ground and I leap out of the way to avoid being crushed. Glass shatters and Vision and a black-cloaked figure fall from the lab. Ella! I whimper before feeling something tear into my side.

Bucky shoots the thing before gripping my fur "Go to her, I'll be fine." He releases himself from me and shoots the creatures from beside me "Go!"

I sprint towards the lab, "Someone get to Vision!" Steve commands I bark as I run by him, I make it to the base to see Banner and Vision fighting two monsters. I get past them and climb up the side of the lab to the floor Ella is on.

I shift back and tighten the harness to fit my small frame and call out to her, "Here!" I catch her shout for me and find her under the table holding her bloody arm. I kneel by her and replace her hand with mine, taking her pain as dark veins spread up my arm.

"Yun-hee get down here now!" I hear Steve shout

"You're gonna be all right," I say before jumping through the smashed window and land next to Steve a wolf. I stand in front of Bucky, letting him get onto me as a purple man comes through a portal. Banner, Steve, T'challa, Sam, Rhodey, and I try and fail to stop the giant with the golden gauntlet, followed by Natasha and Okoye. Energy sends Bucky and I flying, we land and he detaches from me. I shift back and we run back to see the purple man pull the stone from Vision's head. An ax flies to him and is sent into his chest. Thor lands and goes to him, but the man snaps his fingers as I hear a resounding pulse of energy. People start appearing from the trees, I grip onto Bucky's hand as we walk to them.

"Steve?" I hear Bucky say, he starts disintegrating and I fall with him and try to catch him, but he turns fully to dust, leaving only his gun. My knees hit the ground and Steve comes over to me, it feels like my heart died with him. I hold his gun and roar until my voice vanishes. I lost my mate and best friend, when he died, a piece of my mind died with him, I didn't feel whole.
