"You sound as tough as you look." Ace was unphased, grinning with excitement. "Look, I'll be nice about this, I'm not interested in really hurting a g-"
He was cut off as you swung for him, pissed for what he was about to say. He came in for a fight, he better give you one. Chivalry didn't exist in the ring, this one or any other.
The noise from the spectators became deafening as the fight started and Ace ducked just in time to avoid getting hit on the jaw. The rediculous, wide brimmed, orange hat he wore brushed against your metal fist and it was pushed off his head. The only thing keeping it on his person was the long string that hung under his chin and draped over his chest. It tugged up to rest at his throat as the hat fell down to his back, letting more unruly black hair flop into his face.
"Woah!" He took a couple steps back in surprise. "Can't we talk some? I just wanted to say you're an amazi-"
You weren't keen on talking here. You stepped forward and slid a leg between his, swiping it to the side to send him off balance and cut him off once again. He'd stepped into the puddle of blood, the sole foot he was balanced on slipped, and he fell straight into it. It splashed up just enough to leave a few flecks of red on his white shirt and you took some comfort in knowing it'd stain. It was enough of a thought to calm your anger somewhat at least. Something about this guy pissed you off to no end.
There was a chorus of boos from the crowd, they were about as happy as you were with how this was going so far. They came to see a fight and Ace wasn't delivering.
"Get up so I can kick your ass." You snarled as you stalked around him, waiting for him to get back up. You weren't going to go without a real fight, or at least the closest you'd get to one.
Lucky for you, Ace seemed like he was done trying to talk. His mouth set into a firm line and there was a sudden sharpness to his stare that wasn't there before. Apparently he didn't like getting his clothes messy. He rose to his feet quietly, wiping his hands on the bloodied shorts before soon deciding the action was useless.
You lunged forward, feigning with a right to make him flinch before going in with a left that connected with his stomach. He let out a grunt and doubled in on himself as you pulled away. You didn't hold back with the punch but he recovered quickly and was lashing out at your head as soon as you'd moved out of the way. He went from not wanting to fight to going for blood pretty fast.
You turned your body to the side to avoid him and shoved a hand between his shoulder blades to help his momentum. What you didn't expect was him to firmly plant a foot to the mat and twist around. He was quick.
His fist connected with your left side and you gasped in both surprise and pain. It'd been a hot minute since someone had last actually hit you and if it wasn't for his sudden, blinding speed, you would've been able to dodge.
There was a satisfied smile on his face and he opened his mouth like he was about to talk again. You shut him up by lashing out immediately and connected your metal fist with his cheek. His head snapped to the side and he tumbled a short distance across the ring, through the blood and to his hands and knees.
"Fuck...." He coughed and spat up some blood of his own as he tried to shake his rattled head.
The crowed roared their approval as you stood in place, cradling your side. It was going to have one helluva bruise in the morning. He had a good punch, you'd give him that.
The fight seemed over, with him huddled on the ground and you still standing but that was apparently not the case. Above the deafening sound of the crowds cheers, a single voice shouted out.
"Ace, if you're going to start a fight, you better finish it-yoi!"
Ace heard it too, he chuckled as he got back to his feet, wiping the blood that spilled down the corner of his mouth away with the back of his hand as he put his hat back in place, firmly on the top of his head.
