"What, were you too fucking stupid to catch him?" The woman standing over you asked angrily.
"I didn't come here to get yelled at because he's an idiot." You shot back.
"Well what are you doing here then? You don't seem all that useful."
Whether she was insinuating your lack of an arm made you less than helpful or not, you were getting tired of her quickly. At first when she approached, you thought she would help. Apparently you were wrong.
She began berating you immediately as she instructed you on what to do with Ace and now you were stuck in place as she continued to tear into you over something you had absolutely no control over.
She was rather tall for a woman and stood close enough that you were forced to crane your head back to look her in the eye. Every time she spoke, her head moved with attitude and her black, chin length hair swayed constantly. And then there was her stare. Her steely eyes never looked away from your own no matter how aggressive you were with your words.
So now you had her to deal with, while you were sitting on the ground with Ace's head in your lap. His hat was beside you and his hair was an absolute mess. You could see a new bruise forming on his forehead from the tumble he took. He was snoring lightly, completely out despite the commotion happening around him.
"I work here for your information." You spat through grit teeth.
"Seriously? Work? With only one-"
"Natharia-yoi!"
She immediately stiffened up from what you first thought was fear but then a look of pure joy crossed her face. She smiled brightly before whipping around, the skirt of her blood red dress almost hitting you in the face.
"Marco!" She called out to the vaguely familiar blonde man that stomped over to the both of you, surprising him when she stepped far enough into his space that he had to stumble back. "I'm so glad to see you!"
Marco gently grabbed her by her shoulders and shifted her to the side so he could see you on the ground with Ace. She practically swooned from the touch. Anyone with a pair of eyes could tell she was absolutely smitten with him.
"Right." He coughed awkwardly. "And why are we bothering one of pop's employees?"
"Employee? She's not a part of the gang."
"And I hate to burst your bubble but neither are you Natharia-yoi, not yet. We're still busy getting things fixed up here, can you come back later?"
She let out a disappointed huff before smiling once again. "When I come back, can we go on a date? I found this really romantic restaurant-"
"Sure, we can do that but later."
"Of course! I'll see you later tonight then!"
After a bit more back and forth, with you still sitting rather patiently, Macro managed to get her to leave. When she'd cleared out of the building, he let out a troubled sigh and shook his head.
"Sorry about her-yoi. She means well and I promise she's usually not so rough. I'm Marco by the way, right hand man to Pops."
"She seems delightful." You grumbled sarcastically. "And (Y/n)."
"You're the one Ace fought, right? May I?" He crouched down and pointed to Ace.
When you nodded, he pulled him out of your lap and leaned him against one of the many new chairs that had been brought into the building.
"Natharia likes to think he's more delicate than he is so sometimes she gets a bit heated when he takes a tumble-yoi. He's a narcoleptic unfortunately, it hits him at odd times, though it is rare for him to pass out like that while up and moving."
