Amajiki's pov:
Without Mirio, I don't know I'd be able to do much. He's like the sun. He shines.

I remember when I first met him.

The spring of third grade, I transferred here on the day of the opening ceremony.

[ memory ]

"I'm... Ama... jiki... um... I-I... h..." young Amajiki said.

I couldn't really talk when I introduced myself.

In a room where everyone just changed classes, those who had been in the same class before gathered together and made new groups.

No one had the courage to be the only one to talk to the new transfer student who had an awkward start.

I hadn't been very good at making friends at that point, anyway.

I thought I was just being a quiet and boring person.

"Amajiki-kun!" young Togata said.

Young me looked up at  young Togata, wondering why he was talking to me.

"The 'h' you started during your introduction - were you trying to say hero there?" Young Togata asked Young me.

"Oh... well..." Young me said.

Young Togata gave young me a thumbs up, "I like heroes, too! Ehehe!" Young Togata giggled.

Young me didn't say anything but sat there looking at him.

Back then...

"Who do you like, Amajiki-kun?" Young Togata asked me.

... because you talked to me... You were so bright... shining... Like... the sun.

I wonder if I can do it, too... Shine... like you.

We continued to go to school together. Him shining more... but it was hard for me. Did I mean to say heroes? Am I even good enough to be a hero?

[memory - before Amajiki came to U.A.]

I grunted... trying to do something with my quirk. Nothing but a tiny plant popped from my hand.

"What's wrong, Amajiki? With your quirk, you should be able to do better. Are you still nervous? Oh well, don't force yourself. Go back." Sensei said.

Quirks can be used in various ways, not just by heroes. How we use our quirks in the future was the point of our quirk training class.

When Mirio couldn't do something... he was still cheerful and positive. He makes those around him cheerful.

'I'm no good. My mind goes blank and doesn't know what to do. You'll be an amazing hero... one like the sun'. I told him.

'What are you saying? You make me sound so great, but it's not like that. I can do my best because you're here, Tamaki. I know that you really have amazing power. I know that you're actually a... a really cheerful and fun guy. Have confidence in yourself, Tamaki.' he would tell me.

'You're someone who eats even the sun, Suneater'. He said.

Those words inspired me during the battle. When I was fighting against Setsuno, Tabe, and Hojo.

Not only him but (L/n). She's different. I can tell when I first saw her impression.

She's someone who doesn't want to be saved or someone who doesn't know what to do.

She's somewhat like Mirio. Always shining... when she told me she believes in me... I knew that my confidence built up a bit.

I don't know why my heart beats everytime I see her. But if one day we can be together, I hope that she can help build my confidence.

Who am I kidding? I'm older than her... she wouldn't want someone old.

She would want someone like Kirishima or around her age. *sigh*, she doesn't even like me at all... do you reader?
