Broken Promise

Naruto POV
We walked up to the entrance of the hokage tower. Suddenly, I saw someone. They had brown hair with red markings on their face.

Inuzuka Clan Markings

i couldn't move. Wolf turned around and looked at me, confused. "Come on Naruto, we're almost there." He said as he grabbed my hand. He began walking but I just stood there. My eyes became hollow. I couldn't hear. I couldn't see anything but that man. The horrid flashbacks kept looping over and over in my head. I could feel my legs wobbling, my hands shaking, the chills running up and down my spine, but no reaction came out of me. I couldn't get a reaction out of me.

I snap out of it and my cheek hurts, bad. It burned and I just stood there, but I could think again. I processed everything that just happened, and then I realize what really just happened. Wolf Slapped me. Wolf hit me. I begin tearing up. "N—Narut—" Before I knew it, I was running, tears flying in the wind.
Wolf POV

Goddamnit! "N-Narut-" It was no use, he was already gone. I look down at my hand. It was a little red. I didn't mean to hit him that hard..I just meant to snap him out of whatever trance he was in. I looked over, and Tenzo was just looking at me. "I..." I said, quietly. I'm not the type to get all emotional, but there were small tears forming in my eyes. "I..I need to find him." I said looking around the area where he ran off too, and back at my friend. "Maybe you should give him some space. To cool down, right?" He said, placing a hand on my shoulder. "Yeah, let's report to lord third. I've kept him waiting long enough."
We walked up to the Hokage tower. We walked up the stairs in silence. I kept thinking about what I did. I promised i'd never hurt him, and I did. We reached The 3rd Hokages room, and I knocked. "Come in." He said as Tenzo opened the door and we both walked in. "Lord 3rd." I said as we both bowed to him. "Uzumaki Naruto knows of my presence. I saved him once and let him stay at my apartment for a bit. He knows I am an Anbu keeping watch over him. He does not know about Tenzo or our other comrades Identity. He has met Tenzo though, but has no clue about his existence in the ANBU." I said, looking down as the memory still lurks in my brain, stabbing my heart. "Where is the boy now?" The third asked, looking at me, the man who was in charge of this mission, to keep him safe.
I think Tenzo could tell I couldn't answer him. "We had a bit of an accidental situation at the moment. It should be resolved shortly." I couldn't bare to look the old man in the eyes. I just stared at the ground, at my shoes. I regret it so much. I'm sorry Naruto. I'll make it better for you.

"I think I can piece together what you mean. Give him space, but don't let that stop you from doing your job. Do not fail me. Do not fail Him. Dismissed." We both walked out, and reached the outside of the Hokage tower. "We should find him now. It's important to know where he is." Tenzo said to me as we both equipped our ANBU masks. Where would he be...? I thought to myself.

hello i'm so sorry for not posting this in a while. I had awful writers block in this chapter so it took forever for me to figure out what to write, but here it is. I hope u enjoyed tho :)
