Sitting inside away from the prying eyes of media and paparazzi, Dhruv was a man of privacy and confidentiality. He did not liked people poking their noses round in his business. The man who was a hard partier once was now chained down to his business. What happened for such a drastic change in him? It was still a mystery for tabloids and maybe this was the reason, why they always wanted to publish a juicy story about him, but his closed personality gave them little space for doing it. Rumours were that he had a girlfriend who dumped him because of his mysterious nature and he had been grieving on her since then, not allowing another female to enter in, some said he was a man who kept his dirty work locked inside a closet, others had some other theory for his personal life, but nobody could confirm what the real matter was.
"Dhruv?" Dhruv looked up from his laptop to find his father, Yash Khaitan, standing there tall and solid like always.
"Papa" he greeted him with a hug. Apart from Aviral, it was only Yash whom Dhruv would allow a bit of entrance in his personal space. The dynamics of their relation changed heavily from being father and son to sharing the bond of a father and son. Dhruv spent sixteen years of his life hating his father and thinking relations are all about money, but in past two years he had learned how wrong he was in his opinions.
Tears are pious water of guilt, fear and love that wash away all hard feelings of years. The night when Dhruv cried for the first and the last time on his father's shoulder, was when everything changed. No questions were asked as to why he was crying, but unsaid apologizes were heard and forgiveness exchanged. That was the night when a father and his son truely united after 16 long years of exiled misunderstanding.
"What are you doing here? When did you return from Gujrat?" Dhruv queried his father.
"I arrived just now. I came here as soon as my plane landed. Had to see my only son, couldn't wait any longer." Yash said affectionately.
"How are you? How is your health? How is the orphanage and the kids? Do they need something? Do you need something?" Dhruv hurled all questions at once on his father.
"Easy son. I am fine. My health is good, thanks ti those medicines. The orphanage is functioning quiere well and kids miss you. And no neither do they or I need anything. I am here to discuss something important." Yash concluded with a serious business tone.
"What do you want to say? If it is about marriage then...." Dhruv said cautiously. Dhruv had dreaded that his father will force him down to marry, again.
"No. I am not going to force you into a marriage. I know a life-partner is important but that does not mean you cannot live a single life. I have also lived one, after your mother's demise. So I am not here to force you into an alliance. But I am here to force you to show the world who you are?" Yash said. Dhruv looked confused at his father's ending words.
"I don't understand what are you trying to say?" Dhruv asked still confused.
"I am saying that son go out and live a little. No I am not telling you to party around or get a life with whores. I am saying try to add this certain personal touch to your life. Don't stay cooped inside this cabin forever. Look I heard from Aviral that you are sponsoring a college team, who is representing India? Have you met the team? Have you gone to see them and encourage them? Have you shared your ideas with them? No. You know inorder to give a boost to these youngsters you need to show them that you have faith in them. Meet them, get to know them. Show the world that the team truely has the support of Dhruv Khaitan. It will benefit both them and you. If you are planning to hire any of them, then this will be a chance for you to get to know them up close and personal." Yash explained.
Dhruv kept quiet for a while, thinking over his father's words. It is true that sometimes you need to display the trust in people inorder to encourage them and bring out the best in them. It has been a long time since he had got in touch with people, apart from the business clients. It will be a new change for him and also beneficial for the company.
"I think you are right Dad. I should get involve with them on a more personal level." He then summoned Aviral in his cabin.
"What is the report on that team of ECI in which we are investing?" He asked Aviral.
"This year India is playing the host team for the competition. The foreign teams from Australia, Ireland, US and UK has already arrived a week ago. The competition will be going on for a period of three months, and at the end the winners will be announced. The inauguration ceremony is tomorrow. As far as I know ECI Team Captain has already been successful in creating a buzz among other team members. So we can say the progress is quiet good." Aviral said.
"Hmm.... Tell Mr. Vidyut Chauhan that I will personally come and meet the team in the inauguration ceremony of the competition. This time Dhruv Khaitan is going to involve personally in it. If I feel like it, then I may meet them at regular intervals too." Dhruv said.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Everything set for the tomorrow?" Vidyut asked, entering the auditorium.
"Yes sir. Everything is sorted. We will be fine the ceremony with a welcoming speech from the principal, followed by the representatives of International Competition, a welcome act from our team and then there will be team introduction, " Riddhi said.
"Add another event to the list. Our team sponsor is also coming tomorrow to meet the team. He will be the one to greet the foreign teams." Vidyut said.
"And Arohi...." He said turning towards her, "don't take the pressure to change right after your performance, you will sign the pledge in your costume only. We cannot delay the pledging event." Vidyut said.
"But sir I will be in a traditional dress. Shouldn't one must sign the pledge in formal attire?" She asked.
"Formal suit, well we have already broke a record by having a female captain, what harm can be caused if we set some new rules??" Vidyut smiled wickedly.
"Right." Arohi joined in the smile.
"So we are set to show the world how India does it royally??" Vidyut asked.
"Yes sir." They all replied in unison.
