Life never seems to play it fair, especially not when you want it to. Some call it destiny, some call it fate, all one can be sure of is that it is game of God, a test to check your tolerance and patience, believe and love. It is his plan to create hurdle when all obstacles seems to start to vanish.
Decisions were made on both the sides of love-hearts but then the Supreme Being rolled his dice, played the game, to ensure the two don't have an opportunity to confess. With seminar preparations rolling out, and the last round of event knocking at the door, Arohi found herself surrounded by tasks and training. She didn't even had a time spare a breathe. Running around from one place to another, making calls, everything was taking a toll on her, but she was not ready to give up. Not now when she was so close to acheive what she wanted.
Once again Dhruv was left hanging by her, awaiting for her answer. Anxiousness, nervousness, kept eating him, but he had no other option other than to wait. Infact it was as if he wouldn't even get a chance to grab a glance of Arohi. Rarely eating, always staying out or in her room with her team, Dhruv knew he had lost her to her work. The same way when she lost him to his stress and work. And if she was all patient and loving then, so could he be for this once. He didn't knew what to expect but he kept holding onto that one Hope, that reflected their union in future.
It had been two days since Arohi left for the final round. It was a treasure hunt round and clues where scattered all over the city. Two days since she left and nearly fifteen days remaining to his three months challenge. He was once again in his office, getting back at work. Since Arohi had been gone, he decided to look over some pending matters and sort them out before her return.
"Ok. Great. Hope to see the colors shining out of this alligence." Saying Dhruv disconnected the last official call for the day.
"So how is it going? I mean how is the progress with Arohi?" Aviral asked.
Taking a deep breathe, and letting out a heavy sigh he replied "I have apologized almost whole two months and now I have to wait for her reply. She is gone fore now on her last round and I didn't wanted to distract her by calling and stressing her out to give me an answer."
"Well you deserve that bro. The biggest punishment that can be give to a lover is to make him wait. She is doing well in her area of punishing. I guess we will get quite well together in harnessing and planning against you." Aviral laughed.
"I hope you get a chance to get along with her. That will be if she accepts me back in her life." Dhruv replied, "these past few days the only thing I have done is asked for forgiveness from people whom I had hurt in past."
Aviral was quite for a while, thinking about something. Then after a short silence he opened his mouth, "have you really apologized to everyone whom you have hurt?" His eyes delivering a message to Dhruval. After a pregnant pause Dhruval replied, "I guess there are two people left whose forgiveness will mean the world to our relation." And with that he picked up his coat and left the office.

At night as the click struck 9:30pm, the door-bell of a flat rang. About fifteen seconds later a lady in mid-fifties came running opening the door but stopping in between as the face behind the door was revealed.
"Namaste Mummy" the voice said politely, but before lady could say anything a voice from inside the house asked, "Who is it Anjum?"
"Can I come inside?" The man at door asked. The lady just nodded and step aside to give the path to enter. Then she guided him towards the living room.
"Who is it...." Another voice asked but stopped in middle "Dhruval?"
"Namaste Papa" saying he bent down to touch the man's feet.
"What are you doing here... You.." his words were cut-off in middle by his wife, "Ashok." And then she slowly shook her head, stopping him from saying anything rash.
"Take a seat Dhruval. I will get you some refreshments." Anjum said.
"Please no Mummy. I don't deserve the hospitality. Not now, until I rectify my past damages." Annum and Ashok exchanged a look, unsure of what to make of his words. Of course they knew of the latest changes in Dhruv and his latest try to fix everything. But they never believed he could change.
"I am here to discuss something, more like ask you for something. I am here to beg your forgiveness. I know you both know what happened in the past. I also know how hurt and angry you both are with me. To be truthful I don't know papa how you still kept working in the company and look at my face daily after knowing all the truth. Or how you never disclosed it to Dad? If I had a daughter and if somebody had done the same with her Lord knows what would have I done to him. But you stayed silent. And guess what your silence was the biggest slap on my face and punch in my guilt. Had you both cane and shouted, hurled abuses at me, I would have never felt the level of guilt that I am doing today. Mummy-Papa I won't lie to you. I have treated your daughter like a trash, and I admit it. Then again that was in past, now I am here to make a future for us. I am already working on it and I am sure that you both know about it. But I can't have a fresh started until have settled all my past bills and debts. If I want Arohi in my life this time, I want to do it the right way. I want to have your forgiveness and blessings in doing so. I promise I will do anything you ask to prove you that I have changed and I deserve her." Slowly Dhruv was on his knees infront of them, "parents are known to forgive their children when the commit a mistake, when they admit it and want to rectify it. I am also like a son to you, will you not take me back as one?" His eyes reflecting all the truthfulness, pain, suffering, guilt and most importantly love for their daughter.
The feeling if remorse wiping away away any ill-feelings left. What ears could not believe eyes saw the truth behind them. The self-less love of parents is the biggest boon of God on the mankind.
Anjum wiped the tears that had formed during Dhruv's hearty confessions, "get up son. We were never against you, we were upset in your behaviour. But today you words opened up your soul to me. As a mother I can read the heartbeat of my child. And toady your heart beated only the truth, your heart pumped the pure love today, the shine in your eyes is no more of ego or arrogance, like it was three years back. Today the lustre in your eyes show the Dhruval your mother imagined you to become. Everyone deserves a second chance, even you do." Dhruval hugged Anjum.
"Papa" breaking away from the hug, he turned towards Ashok.
"For me all that matters is my daughter's happiness. If she is ready to forgive you, I won't stop you both. But know my eyes will be on your every moment. I may have forgiven you this once but there won't be a second chance. Make sure you make the best of this one chance. Or else just for your knowledge both me and Yash have a full-look plan of your murder if you again harm our daughter." Ashok said in a stern voice bht softness behind it was detectable. Dhruv just nodded.
Earning the family's forgiveness, his heart felt suddenly again a bit more lighter. Now only person left is, his talented, left, sweet, yet angry wife, Arohi Avasthi Khaitan.
