You see, the thing with engineers is that there are so many different types of them. And the requirements to be an engineer, vary a lot from type to type.
Now, for e.g., the core research fields like mechanical engineering, or aeronautical engineering, are fields that need actual creativity.
Civil engineers also need creativity, although of a different kind. They need creativity about how to steal money from the people.
Chemical engineers are a different story though. For them, the requirements include,
1. Not being good enough to get into the core fields
2. 12 years worth of tears.
3. A blood sacrifice to Satan.
Well, to be fair. A blood sacrifice is necessary for every kind of engineer.
Also, an engineer's biggest inspiration is the place they've visited most frequently in their 4 years of being on campus, which is the anti-ragging cell, which, like most things made by engineers, makes a lot of noise, and does not work.
