The news of King Roberts passing and the execution of Ned Stark had shaken the serpent queen. That night she had held her son tighter than before, her worries for his safety peeking at an all time high. He had just barely turned three. How she was wishing that Jaqen was there to hold her as she was so close to breaking down with fear. At the same time rumors about a Targaryen we're getting louder. Matos was changing. Women who were willing to fight we're getting the training and the armoury. The serpent queen was preparing to defend her people and her child to the last nail. And her not yet born second child. It might have been just her luck to spend merely three days with the man she loves and receive news of her second pregnancy so shortly after. However she couldn't bring herself to mind. Her second child too would be a gift to her ever darkening world.
Young prince Eden had barely just been born and announced to the people of Matos when the invitation letter came from Kingslanding to a wedding between house Tyrell and house Baratheon.
Medusa herself could not believe the letter before her as she holds both her children, her younger son suckling as his older brother, now nearly four, watches, his head resting on her stomach. Never before had she been invited to Kingslanding. Not after annulling the contract between Matos and the seven kingdoms. Perhaps the Baratheon boy was curious to see her. But going would mean exposure of her children to the world. She wanted to hide them away forever if it were to her but someday they would have to step into the broad daylight "How would you feel going to a wedding across the big sea, Avalon, my little snake?" The boy beams at her excitedly. "But you have to promise me one thing, do you hear me?" He holds still, looking at her with those pale blue eyes she loved so much. "You won't run around alone. Stay by mommy's or the guards side. Don't talk to strangers and don't eat or drink things that are offered to you by strangers." Avalon nods. "What are you supposed to do?" "Stay with mommy or the guards. Don't talk to strangers. Only eat food Mommy or the guards give me." Brushing her hand through the brunette locks that get more and more redness to them Medusa smiles. "My good, dear little boy. So smart and independent.." "I don't ever want to leave mommy, if that's what you think. I'll stay with mommy and Eden and daddy when he comes home." She smiles. "My precious little snake." Kissing his hair she tucks him against her side. A smile on her lips. Her children.. no their children were perfect.
Their fathers walking mirror images. She was glad to have them. And perhaps, once Jaqen would finally come home to them there would be a few more. "Let us go to a wedding then."Laughing she watches as her ships crew plays with their older prince on deck as she holds Eden in her arm, feeding him, brushing back the little soft fluffy hair. Her second time to motherhood had thus far been even better than the first. Birthing was easier after her hips had already been widened from pushing out Avalon. "Careful Avalon!", she smiles, catching her son before he falls. He gives her a quick grin before charging again. At this moment only one thing was missing and she could only dream and wish he were there with her.
