It had been the second letter by Daenerys Targaryen that she had been sent. And she would have burned it, if it hadn't also been signed by Jon Snow, Ned Starks bastard and the King of the North. Humming she looks at the the letter, however she falls more and more quiet the more she reads. Gritting her teeth. "What is it?" Looking towards Willas Tyrell, Jaqen and Oberyn she hands him the letter that he too reads. "White walkers? Those are fairytales." "Apparently they are not. And an army of millions of dead is marching towards the wall. They have a dragon now as well. This is as bad as it can get.", she says through gritted teeth. Straightening up. Well. Oberyn. Willas. You two are mine and Jaqens advisors. What do you advise? Do we help save Westeros and risk our own or do we stay on Matos forever, knowing that the dead are only three weeks at most away and defend our home from here?" She looks a visibly frustrated as she says those words. Annoyed and mostly worried. "You have an army unlike any other. If we were to fight, chances for humanity to win would be far greater. However.. I believe this decision is up to our people. Why not ask them? If it is their lives put on the line fighting against an army of undead.. shouldn't it be their voices that count in what way?"
It hadn't taken the people of Matos a long time to decide upon what fate to choose.
They chose to visit the council. All eyes settle on the late arriving Serpent Queen and her faceless King. Their sharp gazes pinning the onlookers to their seats. Even the ever so insane Euron Greyjoy. What however surprises them are the company they are in. The daughters of Oberyn Martell walking closely beside them. "You are late, Lady Matos.", Cercei says calmly. The woman cracks a small smile. "It is good to see you again as well, Lady Cercei.", she answers and Cercei gets up, the two women gently connecting their hands, nodding their heads in shared respect to each other. "You were right when it came to protecting my children. I just wasn't good enough." Medusa hums. "I am sorry for your loss." "You were the only one willing to save my son. He was a little monster. I know that. But he was my son non the less. And I will forever be thankful for you trying." Medusa nods slightly. "It was my duty as a mother." "Who is it that you brought with you?", Cercei asks, curious. "Obara, Tyene. Meet Cercei Lannister. Lady Cercei.. Meet Obara and Tyene Sand." "Dornish.." "Oberyn Martell, his Paramour and his daughters have joined our royal family. "Aren't your sons too young to be married?" "They do not need to be married into our family to be part of it. They have proven to both me, my husband, my sons and my people that they are trustworthy enough to stay with us indefinitely. These two have joined my army and I have trained them myself. I see them as my nieces of sorts." The two sandsnakes stand beside their Queen, their heads raised with pride. Finally turning to Daenerys Targaryen and Jon Snow she steps towards them, taking the hand of the young dragoness, staring into her eyes. "I am not disappointed in your appearance, Daenerys Targaryen. You truly do look like one of the Dragon borns." The younger woman hums. "Neither am I. However I imagined you to be older." Medusa hums, a smile playing around her rosy lips. Pearly white teeth flashing from behind them. "Maybe it is for my story is long with plenty twists and turns.", she offers. "Jon Snow.." The man nervously clears his throat. "Queen Medusa." "I have always admired Ned Stark. He was the only Lord in all of Westeros that I respected. His loyalty and honourable personality in the end sadly proved to be his downfall. It is a regrettable outcome to a life that began in such a promising way.. I believe I ought to give you this.", Medusa says, handing the man a scroll. He looks up at her. "What is this?" "It is the last letter he wrote to me. I have no idea how he got a raven to carry it to me, however.. It is his handwriting. I would recognise it anywhere. Many letters of his had reached me over the years after all." Jon Snow raises his eyebrows. "Why would my father write you, Queen Medusa?" She smiles lightly. "When I was young and married my first husband I met him, his brother and the Baratheon brothers who asked us to come to Kings landing to make a deal with them regarding trade between Matos and the seven kingdoms. We spoke on occasion. In the gardens, becoming what one could call friendly accuaintances. And after we departed we continued to write for a good while, yet contact lessened until it finally broke off. I was just as surprised about this letter as you might be. Yet I imagine it to be of importance for you. Read it. It might be helpful." The woman hums to herself. "Now.. Let us proceed. Kings landing is truly awful around this time of year.", she says, taking a seat with her husband and the two sandsnakes by her side, her hand gently and subtly holding that of Tyene.
The disgusting creature did indeed worry her, yet it did not terrify her as much as she thought it would. Cercei had already retreated, same as Euron Greyjoy.
"Are you with us? Queen Medusa, King Jaqen?", Daenerys asks. Medusa hums. "Matos will support you with a quarter of its forces. That is still more than both your and Jon Snows army provide to the fight. However.. you have seen it too, haven't you?" "What?" Medusa chuckles, rising to her feet. "Cercei lied." Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen look at her, confused. "She won't hold back her forces. She will overrun you, the moment the threat of the white walkers is dealt with. Euron Greyjoy being scared? Please! That man has no such feelings. Have you not seen what direction he sailed off to? He is getting back up. Since Highgarden has fallen the crown has enough money to its name to buy the best mercenaries money can buy. And Euron Greyjoy just happends to have the ships it takes to bring them to Westeros. Do not be foolish. Just because I treat her with respect does not mean that I don't think Cercei Lannister to be as false as the bastards she tried to portray as Robert Baratheons sons.", Medusa hums, patting down her dress. Her green eyes staring straight through them. "Do not trust her, no matter what your hand might tell you, coming back from the conversation with her. At least not if you know what is good for you. Give up dragon stone and take all your people with you. Or you might find their head on a spike like Ned Starks.", she tells them. "Obara, Tyene. Please come. Let us leave. We need to organise our troops and the attack.", Medusa says gently, holding out her hands to them, which they take immediately. "Aunt Medusa.. Will you fight as well?" "I will always be on the battlefield when Matosi warriors are. If they die, I will die with them. That was my promise to them. Matos fights as one and falls as one. And I am Matos.", she says gently. "And I will follow my wife into any battle.", Jaqen adds, giving a light nod to the Targaryen and Snow before walking off together with his wife and their extended family.
