Chapter 1: Another mystery to solve

*Four years later*
Clary's pov
I run down the hallway with Hayley chasing me.
"No!!" I scream as she tags me.
"You're it." she says.
"Oh it's on like donkey kong!" I say as run after her.
We play tag for about 30min when Dr. Brown comes up.
Hayley stop screaming you're 16 and you should start acting like a 16 year old.
"Sorry." she mutters.
We go back into her room and Joyce was there reading.
"Hey Joyce!" I say.
"Hey Clary!" she said.
In the past four years Joyce found out about me and now she can see me.
"So your birthday is in a week! Are you excited to turn 18?" Hayley asks me.
"Kind-of." I say.
"Oh come on Clary! You'll be an adult!" Joyce says.
"Adults are no fun." I say.
"True." Hayley says.
"But anyway how are things with you and Cole?" Joyce asks.
I've been dating Cole for about a month and Joyce has been dating Jacob. It's pretty ironic.
"Pretty good. I haven't seen him much because he's always with Taylor." I say.
"Well Taylor is his cousin." Joyce says.
"I know!" I say.
"Well then what about Dan?" Hayley asks.
"What about him?" I ask.
"Any new information about how he's doing?" Hayley asks.
"All I know is that he has a three year old son named Luke." I say.
"Hmm...and Dan hasn't seen you?" Hayley asks.
"No I haven't gone to his flat in forever." I say.
"Okay just wondering!" Hayley says.
What's going on?
Dan's pov
I'm chasing Luke across the living room.
"Gotcha!" I say as I pick him up.
He giggled. Then Avery comes in.
"Mama." Luke says.
I give her Luke. A couple things happened in four years. Phil and Faith own the apartment next to us and they have a daughter named Alexia who's also three. I've also been having weird dreams with Hayley calling me 'dad' and then she tells me something about Clary.
"Hey I'm gonna take a nap." I tell Avery.
I go to our bedroom and lie on the bed. In my dream I'm in a beach with Hayley sitting next to me.
"Dad..." she says.
"What?" I say.
"Dad....Clary's coming back." she says.
"What do you mean?" I ask.
"You're going to see her again." Hayley says.
I wake up. I immediately jump out of bed and pace around the room. This is just another mystery to solve.
