Beep. Beep. Beep.

The sounds of a heartbeat echoes through my head. I take a breath and smelt bleach and other chemicals. I swallow my saliva and found out that my throat was dry, and it felt like sandpaper. Finally, I opened my eyes and blinked a couple of times to adjust to my surroundings. Immediately I inhale sharply as pain comes rushing throughout my body. My stomach hurts, as well as my arms. It feels like I have a killer hangover. I realized that my stomach doesn't have the bump anymore. I put my hand over my stomach as memories of what happened to me. My baby.... my poor baby. Then out of nowhere the sound of someone softly snoring makes me jump. My eyes instantly search the room to find the source. My heart skips a beat when my eyes landed on Jace. He looks like he's walked through hell and back. His lips are slightly parted as he snores softly. His hair is ruffled as if he ran his hand through it numerous times. His clothes are rumpled and looks as if he's worn them for days. A doctor walked in and I heard Jace's snoring stop abruptly.

"Hello Jace." The doctor said quietly just looking at Jace, then his gaze shifted over to me and he looked surprised. "And good afternoon, Ms. Delilah. I'm Doctor Dexter, your doctor for the time being. How are you feeling?" He asks as he walks closer. Out of nowhere fear runs through my body and I quickly move further away from the doctor. He stops immediately and puts his hands up. "It's okay. I'm not going to hurt you."

"Lilah?" Jace asks concerned. Suddenly, I felt a hand on my arm, I move quickly, and I run. I bolt out of the room stumbling a couple of times, but I kept going. I heard my name being called but I never responded. I finally found a place to hide and took a sharp left then right and hid. I felt something crawling down my stomach, I put my hand on my stomach and wiped it away only to find blood on my hand. I must've accidentally opened the stiches up. "Delilah! Delilah, where are you?!" Jace shouts. I heard footsteps running in my direction. I peeked out of my hiding spot and saw Jace, the doctor, and Jace's mom running past the hall I was in. I breathed out a sigh of relief. Then suddenly a sharp pain came from my stomach. I gasped out in pain and bit my lip from screaming. I put my hand on my stomach as tears streamed down my face. The pain throbbed along with my heart. Wanting the pain to go away, I get out of my hiding spot and search for a trusting female nurse. I couldn't speak for fear of screaming so I showed her my stomach. Her eyes grew wide and she rushed to get something.

"What happened?" She asks urgently. I opened my mouth to say something, but nothing came out. "You're the girl everyone is looking for, aren't you?" I don't say anything and so she took that as a yes. "Alright, hon. Let me page Doctor Smith and we'll tell him we found you." She turns to go, but I reached out and grabbed her arm. She turned around surprised and I shake my head no.

"You found her." I spun around to see the doctor, Jace and Mrs. Young. I put some distance between me and the three of them. "Ms. Delilah, you are safe. We aren't going to hurt you. We're here to help you."

"Lilah, it's me Shannon. Delilah, sweetie, you are okay. You are safe." Jace's mom said soothingly as she walks forward. "We need to fix your stomach. I know you're in a lot of pain. Let Dexter fix you." I move a little closer towards her but still far away from the doctor and Jace. Mrs. Young reaches me and caresses my face. I flinch and move away from the touch. "I know you're afraid but its okay. You can trust me." I nod allowing her to comfort me and to let her know that I trust her. She smiles sadly and hugs me. I slowly hug her back. Then out of nowhere I felt a prick in my neck I squeaked surprised. Then I suddenly felt very tired. I close my eyes leaning into Mrs. Young. The last thing I heard was Mrs. Young saying that I was okay.
