"Hunter, can you move the light a little more to the center?!" Jackie yelled at me as everyone else was setting up to do the scene again.

"Can do!" I moved the light a little which makes a big difference in the scene. It seemed much more natural than what it was before. Much nicer and neater than I thought it would be.

It's been almost a month since I was sent here, but it has been harder to adjust to Safe Heaven. I'd be lying that most of it were just trying to adjust, but I was also trying to adjust mentally. I've broken down a few times at my new home and once during school. I was lucky that Alice was willing to help when that happened.

I was lucky that we were about to take an out of the country trip to this worlds equivalent to Japan. It is in a few more days so I would relax for the most part. We were going there because we were offered a position in a film and the majority of the class agreed. I was a stagehand so I'll be doing fuck all since the producers already said they had more than enough of them to satisfy their needs. The producer owed a favor to my cryokinesis teacher, who loves theater, and she used it as an excuse for them to get more experience.

I was given an extra plane ticket to give someone so I wouldn't be bored for the entire trip. I was basically going to be there for support, but I would be useless. As for what we're doing now, we're doing one final rehearsal for a few scenes they would have a part in. A few speaking lines, maybe some exposition if they got lucky. Setting the mood is important and helps it feel like they are actually on set. If my guess is right, then they won't have any anxiety when they know the lines and motions.

Jack was off on the side with a few other stagehands, but he was finally to play a part as a background character. His bad luck would apparently come in handy as one of the casualties. I'm not joking, they specifically asked for him so he could get the shit beaten out of him. I was obviously against it, but he said he would since they made a good point that he'd provide realistic civilian casualties.

Now that I think about it, this will be the first time I will have seen my cryokinesis teacher since I've started school. Could be worse, but I did some of the assignments she left which were just getting used to the cold. I wonder what she'll be like when I meet her... maybe with my luck, she'll be like Gray's teacher.

"Hunter, class is about to end! Hurry up or you'll be late for your next class!" Jackie yelled while the others waited for me. Shit, I zoned out! That's happening less and less, but the fact it happened during class change is bad.

"Crap! Sorry, I'll be down in a minute." I got all my things and got down from the light rafters. It's not as easy when you have a book bag filled to the brim with school supplies. I'm just glad that I have a locker again and that Neural Optic implant to help guide me. "Thanks for waiting," I said while following them out.

"No problem, we wouldn't leave you behind," Zill responded while Damian floated behind Kayla.

"Well, I might have," Damian said as he started to fly in figure 8 above us.

"I'm so jealous that you can fly. That would be so fun and useful." He smiled down at me with a weird glint in his eyes... oh no.

"What, you just want to use it to be a pervert, don't you?" You bastard! You backed me into a corner.

"No, because I respect people! That and a twelve-year-old could kick my ass, so I'm not ready to die yet. Pretty sure your dumb ass already got caught." I was not expecting his response.

"No comment." He did actually did it. The fuck?! I shouldn't be this impressed, but I am. He just disappeared after Kayla tried to hit him.

"Dirty little demon," She growled under her breath. "What's that look?" I chuckled not realizing I was showing how I felt.

"To quote the famous YouTuber: TheRussianBadger, 'I'm tilted, but impressed'." That got me hit by both Vanexa and Kayla. "Damn it, why!"

"Don't agree with perverts!" Both said with blushes. Jesus, Vanexa's book feels like it's made of steel.

"Okay okay, I won't! You didn't have to hit me." I rubbed the part of my head they hit. "God damn, that hurt." Not to mention their hit knocked me on my ass.

Jack offered me a hand which I took. "I'm surprised you were actually about to hit Damian, you're normally scared of him." She huffed while covering herself... oooooooooh, that makes more sense. I didn't realize the implications until now. I guess actions do speak louder than words.

"After what he said, I don't want to take any chances." I just pat her on the head and maybe pet her a little bit. I always wanted to do that.

"S-stop that." She was seriously trying not to relax. She'll give in soon.

"I'm going to scratch this off my bucket list." This is a dream come true! It's so cute!

"Did you get the permission form signed?" Vanexa asked making me pull out the form and check it.

"I only have a few of my teacher's signatures. I should have the rest before afternoon rehearsal." I folded it and put it away.

"Are you sure you don't want to make an appearance?" I only shook my head with a fearful look. This would only trigger my anxiety, I'd rather help out behind the scenes.

"He's too scared to. He's like a child." Damian mocked as he rested on the ceiling and out of reach from both me and Kayla who was trying to hit him. I just gave him the finger with a dull look. "Besides, you chose cryokinesis as defense magic." It was more of mental power, but he made it seem like a bad thing.

"And that's bad... good... I need context." Damian looked at me and for the first time, he looked confused.

He floated down to me, with confusion and a little bit of interest. "Hasn't the human world taught you magic?" I scratched the back of my head.

"Well, no. Magic is fantasy in my world, nothing more than abilities fictional characters have." He chuckled before starting to laugh as he flew backward while still keeping pace with use. So. Fuckin'. Jealous.

"Oh, this is too good! You better fucking hope you can master it, you're gonna want to!" He disappeared once more just leaving me confused. I stopped caring about that, no point trying to make sense of someone who's bullshit levels of confusion.

The next few days are going to be soooo long.
