Introduction

I'm Lana Julian. I live in a small town in South Carolina. I'm 16 and a sophomore in high school. I only have 2 close friends that are practically sisters and are the closest thing to a family I have.

Lana's POV

I was awoken by my alarm clock and checked the time. 6:30. I get ready for school in the outfit I had laid out from the previous night. It was a oversized hoodie and a pair of skinny jeans with my vans. I curled my hair, put on my favorite snapback and went downstairs.

"Morning dad," I said getting my breakfast.

"Morning sweetheart." I finished eating and grabbed my bookbag.

"Bye dad see you later!" I said before going out the door. No response as usual. I walked to the school which wasn't far from my house. It was a fairly big school for our town but no one seemed to mind.

"Hey Lana!" My friend Electra said waving. She has such a unique name and I love it.

"Hey. Where's Chloe?" I asked and as if on cue, she walked up to us. These girls have been my best friends since as long as I can remember. Electra has long brown, wavy hair, green eyes and is about 5'3. I'm 5'4. Chloe, who has blonde curly hair and brown eyes, is the tallest at 5'6.

"Sorry I was late I ran into someone this morning." Chloe said. Electra and I laughed.

"You always run into someone. You're so clumsy." I said. We walked to class just as the bell rang.

"So I'm going to Starbucks, wanna come with?" Chloe asked. Electra nodded and I shook my head.

"Can't. Have to see if my dad still has any sense left in his mind."

"I understand. See you later!" They walked off and I turned the opposite way towards my house.

"You're no good to me!" My dad said as I walked in the house. As usual, I ignored him and went straight to my room. Let me explain.

My mom died when I was 13. My dad became an alcoholic and gets drunk all the time. I have no siblings but I have Electra and Chloe.

I put on some music and did my homework, a typical Monday night. After I was done, I took a shower and tried to get some sleep, hoping my dad'll be sober by the time I wake up.
