? POV
I stared at the photo of Mack and Piper kissing. Holding hands.
Anger filled within me, threatening to boil over.
"Where are my fucking pills?" I muttered.
I opened a box, searching for the right medication. As I scanned over labels, one caught my eye. Xanax. One I hadn't used in a while. Mostly because I got addicted. It stuck out like a sore thumb, my eyes scanning over the label what felt like 100 times. I brought my hand close to it, so close that I could almost feel the words on the label burning my hand.
No!
I couldn't. If I did, addiction. Addiction, death. Before I die, there is one thing I need. Two, actually. Get rid of Piper. Get Mack. I could do that with a few slides on my phone. Post the photos. Expose them. Then I would go to Mack for support until she fell in love with me. That's what I wanted most. Needed most. Mack was my lifeline. As long as she existed, so did I. We met a few years ago. She was playing basketball, and the second I laid eyes on her, I fell madly in love. She is so perfect.
Think about it this way. You know when you go to a zoo, or an amusement park? The feeling of the rush around you, the excitement of seeing and doing new thing. Chaos all around but you love it. That is me. That is how I feel. That is how I feel with Mack. Around her. Thinking about her.
My heart was pounding, I suddenly became aware of.
Calm down, dumbass.
Take the pill.
Don't do it. You'll get sick. You'll die.
Mack doesn't like you. Take the pill.
I'll get her.
Take the fucking pill.
I grabbed the bottle, a burning sensation running over my body. I opened the lid, grabbed a pill, and put it in my mouth.
Relaxation took over my body. I grabbed another one, put it in, and swallowed.
Good.
I laid down. My head spun. Thoughts and inner demons spoke loudly.
I closed my eyes.
Goodnight.
