"Why have you been going out so late? Especially on the bad part of town."

"I've been running out of things. And its not that bad. Its quiet, I like that."

"You need to go to a psychiatrist or a therapist. We've been over this. You can't just pretend that none of this exists. You need to start taking proper medication. This isn't healthy. Aren't you worried? You shouldn't have to run out to the grocery store at three in the morning because you feel like your family is going to die if you don't eat a cup of ramen every other day!"

Kevin knew that Eric was right. He knew that any sane person would be on their medication. But Kevin wasn't exactly sane. He didn't want to acknowledge these disorders. Acknowledging made them feel real, and Kevin was not ready for that.

Kevin just shrugged it off before walking back to his car. He just wanted to lie back down on his bed. That definitely felt nicer than having to worry about whether or not he would be able to go much longer without any meds. And that was how Kevin ended up drifting off to sleep.

Jacob couldn't help but think about Kevin all through the walk to the grocery store.

He looked like an angel. A very well off, straight, normal, angel. A young adult who could live their life. Who didn't have to worry about next months rent. They were too completely different people.

Jacob couldn't help but think about how his life was ruined from such a young age. His mother had passed away when he was 14. He was sent to live with his abusive aunt for two years. The only reason that he had gotten away from her was because of his abusive boyfriend. He was only sixteen whereas his boyfriend was twenty. He knew it wasn't okay, but he wanted some kind of comfort. He later realized that this was in no way comforting, but he was kicked to the streets before the realization hit him fully.

He was then on the streets for a good three months before he had found a homeless shelter he could live in. And from there, he worked his way up.

It was fair to say that he was jealous of how carefree everyone else his age could be with their lives. He wanted to be able to go and enjoy himself and not have to work two shifts just to make sure that he could eat, while also living under a roof.

Later that night, he had seen Kevin come in. Though, he didn't go straight for an isle this time. He actually went to Jacob.

"Hi."

"Hello. No food today?"

"I didn't run out of anything. I thought that I'd still stop by, though."

"Well thank you for that because if you couldn't tell, this place is quit boring."

"Oh trust me, I know."

Both boys laughed a little. Kevin was still worrying about the medication issue, so he decided to ask Jacob.

"Can I ask you something?"

"Of course."

"Lets say you knew someone who struggles with some kind of disorder and they didn't take medicine. What would you recommend?"

"I would recommend that they take the medicine. Why aren't they taking it in the first place?"

"Because they say that it would make the disorder fell more real."

"It will only feel real if it gets out of control. They should take the medicine so that it doesn't get to that point. Why are you asking?"

"One of my friends had this issue. I just needed some advice on what to tell them."

"Tell your friend that it definitely isn't easy, but they are already strong for having to deal with the disorder. Tell them that I know they can do it."
