"You thought I was not going to come back and finish what I started? I told you that I was going to make you pay for all the pain you caused me." Chloe shouted, her voice filled with rage.

I watched her silently take something out of her pocket. I tried to move away from her, but I couldn't. No matter how much I tried to move from where I sat, I was paralyzed. Before I even knew what was going on, Chloe stabbed me over and over with the mystery object as I screamed in pain and fear.

Abruptly, I sat up straight while desperately gasping for air. My hands fumbled with my hoodie as I tried to take it off. Reaching underneath my shirt, I moved my hands around my stomach and chest until all I could feel was my warm skin and surgery stitches.

"You alright?" Evan asked from his spot beside me. His sleepy voice snapping me out of my panic.

Realizing it was another night terror, I let out a sigh of relief as I rubbed my face in frustration. Ever since I got released from the hospital after spending almost two months there, I have been having terrible nightmares that always felt real. Every nightmare would take place in different places and would occur in different ways, but every single one involved Chloe stabbing me to death.

Looking over at my phone on top of the nightstand, I realized that it was 4 in the morning. "Yeah, I'm okay. Go back to sleep," I replied, feeling bad that this has been the fifth time this week I have woken him up in the middle of the night. Knowing he had to be up for work in a few hours made the guilt even worse.

Instead of going back to sleep, I felt Evan shift on the bed before he carefully wrapped his arms around my waist, pulling me back down next to him. "What was it this time?"

"Same as last night, but this time I couldn't even try to run away. I was paralyzed," I murmured, burying my face on the hollow of his neck. The feeling of his warm skin against my face soothed my nerves almost instantly.

"It's just a dream, Aggs. You are safe, and I won't let anything happen to you," Evan whispered against my hair. Without saying anything, I wrapped an arm around his torso as I tangled our legs together. In return, Evan pulled me closer to him. His warm hand creeping under my shirt, rubbing small circles on my lower back.

"I know, it just feels so real," I finally said, breaking the silence.

"What can I do to help you feel better?"

"Just hold me," I whispered, pressing my lips against his softly before I slowly made my way to his neck. In return, Evan pressed his lips against my forehead.
