Chapter 21

I decided to drop by at my friend's place after Ione left. We didn't meet after I shifted to Marlow mansion, as we both got busy with work.

"Hey", I greeted him as soon as the call connected.

[long time man!]

"Yeah, I was busy with work." 

[How are you? You forgot me after shifting to the new place.]

"No, I just got busy getting acquainted with work and new people."

[Oh, how are they treating you? Is it good?]

"Yeah so far all good so what are upto?"

[Work and more work.]

"Do you want to catch up today after you're done?"

[Sure, head over to the Barista, we'll go after I finish my shift.]

"Sure.", We hung up the call and I hailed a taxi till his place.

We caught up after he was done with his shift, his name was Tomo and I had met in my grad school. We studied hotel management together and he opened his own Barista about an year ago. He was my only friend in these 11 year. I had told him my story and he tried to help me but he couldn't find her, now I knew the reason.

"What do you want to drink?", he asked while preparing a drink for someone else.

"Um, what can you make the best?", I asked teasing him

"Name it and I can make.", he said laughing.

"I'll have an Irish coffee then."

"We'll go out to drink later, do you still want it?"

"Yes."

"So, how is work?", he asked while preparing my coffee.

"Hectic but okay."

"Is your childhood sweetheart making you work too hard?"

"No", I don't think her as a sweetheart anymore, she was more like a mistress, I thought to myself blushing.

"Are you blushing?"

"No"

"I guess things are progressing."

"How have you been?", I asked accepting the drink from him and changing the topic.

"Work and Home only.", he shrugged.

"Girlfriend?"

"Nah."

"Why?", he was handsome, so I was surprised when he said he didn't have a girlfriend.

"I'm focusing on settling the business first."

"Hmm"

"I'll finish my shift, then we'll go out for drinks.", he said and walked away to take order for a new customer. 

"Nah, I have to go home early."

"Stop being a killjoy and loosen up a bit.", he said scoffing, "After you shifted we hardly meet so today we are going to waste away the night."

"Whatever, finish your work."

"Kit! Kit!", Tomo said loudly near my ear. I woke up confused with my surrounding and realized that I fell asleep while Tomo was working.

"Sorry, I slept."

"Its okay, if you're tired we can call it a night.", he said concerned.

"No, lets go. I'm feeling much better."
