"It was nice seeing you mum" I say hugging her at the door.
"Are you sure you don't want to stay the night? It's dangerous. The news says theres been more villains in this area recently" she says holding my shoulders with a worried face.
"I would but I need to get to school for tomorrow" I say "I won't die. I'm strong" I smile at her.
She sighs "I know you are. Right get going then before it gets even later it's already 11. I need to sleep"
"I'm leaving. I'll talk to you soon" I wave walking down the garden.
It was dark, the streetlamps illuminating the streets brighter than the moon was capable of. It was quite a long walk back to UA but no buses run at this time so I don't have much choice.
'Bang'
"Seriously shut up!" I heard an overly loud whisper.
Curiosity got the best of me as I walked towards the noise which was coming from the back of the building. It was quite an open area, with the community building sitting next to a river that ran through town.
I peered around the corner and saw two people at the end, one was holding a flashlight while the other was fiddling with a black bag. "Once we set this up we have to jump into the river, if we don't the explosion will take us along with it. You understand?" The man said to the younger girl holding a flashlight.
"Y-yes" she says nervously the light in her hands shaking.
"Keep it still will ya!" He whisper yells.
I was shocked. They've got a bomb! I pull put my phone my immediate reaction being to call the police or a hero agency. It doesn't turn on. No battery...
"Hey is someone there?" I heard a voice say making me jump. I didn't have much choice but to reveal myself, it's not like I could contact anyone. "What the hell do you think your doing here kid. Fuck off!"
"Sure I'll leave. I'll just go to the police and tell them theres two people with a bomb yeah?" I say sarcastically.
The man growled "No point it'll be ready by then" he starts laughing.
"Hey is this the building your gunna blow up?" I ask pointing to it.
"Indeed it is dear" he says smugly. He certainly wasn't the smartest villain out there.
I crouch down putting my hands on the ground. I take the water from the river and create a barrier surrounding the three of us, the building just outside of it. The noise had to have attracted attention from people living near by.
