Beth laid sprawled on her bed, looking up at the roof as she breathed in and out. She was actually quite tired from sparring, she was able to trick Erik when she touched him and used his own mutation against him. She was pretty proud of herself, she was actually good at sparring, Beth had blocked most of Erik's attacks, but that was primarily what she did. She only got one really good hit on him until Charles came out and scolded them for fighting against each other with their mutations.
She pulled herself out of bed at the sound of frantic footsteps coming from outside of her room, she rubbed her eyes softly and waited for whoever it was to knock, but instead Raven flung the door open. Who was in her original form. Beth was barely out of her bed and reeled back in shock at the sudden burst. Raven slammed the door shut and rushed over to Beth.
"Beth!" Raven cried out while wrapping her arms tightly around Beth's waist, "It... It's terrible."
"R-Raven-" Beth had to steady herself on the bed before she tumbled over, "Wh-what's going on?" She wasn't even fazed by her appearance, she was more worried about her sobbing like this.
Raven hiccuped loudly while she tried to speak, "H-Hank... Erik... Ch-Ch-Charles!"
Beth brought Raven close to her and slowly rubbed her back, trying to get her to calm down, "It's okay. It's okay. Just... Explain it to me slowly."
Raven told her how she was with Henry, explaining how Raven finally felt proud about being a mutant and how Hank was not. She realized she was not going to get acceptance from Hank who was trying everything to basically take away his mutation, to make him look normal. She went over to Erik to fill the hole that Henry left, Raven explained how Erik kissed her and told her just how beautiful she was being the 'real Raven'. Finally, really thinking everything was perfect, she went to Charles because she wanted him to accept her. Which turned into an argument and how Charles basically treats her like a pet.
"Raven..." Beth mumbles softly, letting the woman's head fall against her shoulder, "You must know that Charles loves you like a sister."
"I know." Raven choked, "But... I'm only beautiful if I change."
"Raven." Beth says sternly, she shifted so she could look into her golden eyes, "You are beautiful just the way you are. I don't care what you look like, whether you change to be blonde or choose to stay who you are. But this-" She took Raven's hands in her own, "This is who you are. You're beautiful golden eyes, intricately detailed blue skin. Every inch of you is gorgeous because it's you."
Raven slipped her arms back around Beth, "You... you are the best... you know that?"
"I try." Beth smiled softly, the two of them eventually falling asleep on the bed.
There was this sweet aspect about their friendship, neither girls were able to get this kind of feeling from the men they called their brother. Henry and Charles were not able to give the girls this female bond that they always needed.
