Beth gripped her head in her hands, the tears still streaming down her cheeks, she was wheezing, hiccupping, trying to get the immense pain to just go away. There was this lingering pain in her head, it was almost like a headache but even worse. Oddly enough, Charles seemed to have a similar amount of pain as Shaw, but Beth felt as if it was much worse for her.
"Oh, God!" Moira bent over so she was at their level, "Charles! Beth!" She grabbed onto Beth's face when she noticed a panic attack forming, "Just breathe, okay. Breathe. What happened?"
"Erik..." Charles released with agony, face red from the pain, "He killed Shaw." The words could barely come out of his mouth, his teeth were clenched together. He struggled to stand but stood nonetheless, even helping Beth to her feet. He placed her in Moira's care as he dashed out, ignoring the agonizing feeling in his head.
Beth had this ringing in her ears, her eyes squinted at everything around her, gripping Moira tightly. A sense of desperation waved over her, she was still partially connected to Charles' mutation, feeling Charles' own feeling at the moment. It was surreal knowing what he was feeling like, she took slow steps from the plane. Eyes widening when she saw Erik levitating out of the submarine, holding Shaw up by the coin in his head.
"Today, our fighting stops!" Erik yells so he could get the attention of every mutant on the beach, Henry, Alex, Sean, Raven, Angel, Azazel, and Riptide slowly walked over to see Shaw's dead body drop to the ground. Beth walked over to Charles without Moira's help this time, she could feel the pounding in her head but ignored the feeling. She took Charles' hand back in her own, in which he gave her a soft squeeze for doing it. "Take off your blinders brothers and sisters. The enemy is out there." He points out the large array of ships out in the ocean, "I feel like their guns moving in the water, their metal targeting us. Americans, Soviets." As he spoke, Charles and Beth made their way to their group, Beth standing beside Sean, "Go ahead, Charles. Tell me I'm wrong!"
Beth gripped tighter to Charles as she shared his mutation yet again, her mind connected with the men in the ships, all ready to fire their weapons on them. She quickly released his hand in shock and terror, she backed away from Charles her hands moving up to her mouth. Charles looked over at Moira, "Contact them, now."
Moira quickly runs to the broken plane, leaving the mutants to stare and wait for weapons to be shot towards them. The shock was unbearable for Charles as the men took fire. Beth could see the smoke and flares of the rockets heading their way at incredible speed. Just as they were about to make contact, Erik stopped them by simply holding his head out.
"Erik..." Beth whispered as she watched him turn the weapons around to face the men who fired them.
"Erik-" Charles rushed over to his side, "You said it yourself. We're the better men. This is the time to prove it." Erik only ignored his words, making anger and even more desperation course through him, "There are a thousand men, good, honest, innocent men! They're just following orders."
