"I need time," Inhye mumbled, trying her best to act nonchalant about the situation. "Now isn't the right time for the divorce."

By now, Inhye could tell Kangjoon had become angry with her for her newest revelation. It was understandable and she didn't blame him but she hoped he would at least understand her even int he slightest.

"You told me to date!" Kangjoon raised his voice in disbelief. "I'm in a relationship now, I thought we agreed-"

"We did," Inhye's eyes begged with Kangjoon for him to listen to her and thankfully he had caught on. "I just need a little more time right now."

"Why?" He questioned

"Why?" He questioned. "What's changed?"

"I'm up for a promotion," Inhye lied, praying he would buy into it. "They don't want some divorcee, they want a fresh face. Someone who seems available but isn't."

After a long silence, Kangjoon sighed. "Fine but this doesn't change anything with me and Yumi right? I can still date her can't I?"

"Of course," Inhye was hurt that Yumi was all he cared for but she was pleased that he had granted her such a huge favour. "As soon as I'm in the clear, I promise to let you go."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes," Inhye modded. "I know that you probably doubt me because I was so prepared to let you go the first time but I'm not holding onto you because of my parents. I just want to live like others too."

In truth, Inhye wasn't entirely sure whether she would let him go yet. If she couldn't find someone to father the child or get rid of it, being stuck by Kangjoon's side forever would be the only choice.

As honourable as a single mother is, it wasn't acceptable enough for her. It was still looked down upon and if the child was to be born, she'd rather be hated and have her child live a happy illusion than be loved and have her child suffer.

"I should go, I have a date with Yumi." Kangjoon avoided eye contact with Inhye, sliding past her towards the door. "I'll be back later. Don't wait up."

"I stopped waiting a long time ago..." Inhye muttered, leaving a confused Kangjoon as he watched her walk away into her bedroom with a tub of ice cream.

He was worried seeing Inhye this way. Nowadays she would shuffle around the house in a messy state with junk food and hide out in her bedroom watching tv dramas.

It was unusual. Inhye wasn't the type to eat junk food, she preferred to eat healthy foods to keep herself well preserved for her tv appearances and keep her immune system strong. She never watched tv dramas either, she would much rather watch a documentary and increase her knowledge to help her with her work.

He knew there was something wrong, he just didn't know what it was. Even though Yumi was his priority now, Inhye still had a place in his heart and if something was wrong, he'd find out soon enough. Kangjoon hopes it was nothing serious... his mind running over the things she had said earlier on.

"Had she been fired because of the divorce?" Kangjoon asked himself, exiting their apartment. "Or is she self destructing?"
