Spending a few days in California made me realize why I spent most of my life in Canada. it's definitely too hot here for me. Sure, the ocean breeze helped cool it down. Still wasn't my cup of tea and I made sure everyone knew that I would rather be inside with air conditioning.

Beau's family had taken the children for a night so we could all spend some time around the fire at the California Bennett residence and relax. Including his underage siblings. I think his sister was scared of me, but his brother sure wasn't.

"Keep looking at me that way and you'll have a nice black eye for the wedding." His eyes widened, probably scared I was going to hit him or something.

"Scarlett." Beau looked horrified at what I had just said to his younger sibling. Robert, who was a little past gone, tried not to laugh.

"Alright. No more hard liquor. Beer or wine." Drew cut me off. Probably for my own good. I'd probably try to fight someone and that never ends well, no matter the outcome.

"Wine. Get her wine."

"Oh God no. Their bedroom is right next to ours." Robert and I started laughing, everyone around us was horrified.

All of the Bennett children were bright red. This might be why me and Robert only drink when we're alone..

"Aanndd I'm done drinking. I probably won't see you tomorrow because I'm going to Disneyland to act like I'm 10 again." I got up, bringing my bottles of liquor and juice. It didn't take long for Robert to join me in bed.

Things were fine until I laid down.

"Oh God." I covered my mouth and ran to the bathroom. This was a rare occasion that I was never going to get used to.

I stumbled into Drew, almost knocking her on her ass. I swung the door so that it was partially closed before I knelt down.

Robert came in and gathered my hair in his hand and started rubbing my back. He was completely smashed, probably laid there wondering if it was worth it to get up or not.

When I was finished, I got up to splash some cold water on my face and brush my teeth. Again.

"You can go back to bed." I told Robert. He was leaning against the doorway and looked like he was going to fall asleep.

"I'll, I'll go get you some water." He turned the wrong way out of the door and a few seconds later I watched him walk back the other way. Robert getting this drunk didn't happen often, but when it did it was funny.

Robert stumbled into the bedroom, minutes later, holding my bottle of water. I grabbed it from him and took the aspirin that Drew gave me. After I figured that I had drank enough water that I wouldn't have to make another bathroom trip, I laid down.

My husband was mumbling something about Beau and his brother. After tonight, I don't think Robert was a big fan of the younger Bennett.

It didn't take long for him to cuddle with me once I laid down. I was on my stomach and he had his arms wrapped around my midsection, using my back as a pillow.

The next morning neither of us wanted to get up so we postponed the Disneyland day until after the wedding. He was hurting pretty bad. I could tell by the way that he used my stomach as a pillow and the fact that he yelled at me when I stopped running my fingers through his hair.

"Are you okay?" I asked, knowing I wouldn't get a serious answer out of him.

"I feel like shit."

"Well, I figured that much. Is there anything else you want to talk about?" I don't know why, but I worried about him.

"Just in a weird place, I guess."
